PR 3 Domain - to buy or not to buy?

So I'm in the process of creating a lead gen site and one niche I've planning on going into is home improvement. The domain name is pretty nice and simple, the PR seems to checkout, and the backlink profile looks not bad. At $67 though, I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger.

What do you guys think?

It will lose it's PR-3 ranking in the next Google update!

Then why do people buy high PR domains if it's going to lose it soon anyway?

And why do people buy stuff from strangers on the street..

Domain name and domain age are the most important factors I think. These give the main value to a domain name.

Backlink portfolio is also important but it is a secondary factor.

They don't always lose it, but most people imagine that PR signifies a whole lot more than it actually does, anyway.

In reality, we can all see for ourselves that lower-PR pages are regularly and increasingly outranking higher-PR pages in Google's SERP's anyway, because PR is a very minor factor in rankings.

Many people think they may stop publishing them soon, too: http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...ar-2013-a.html

Dont waste your money. PR is nearly meaningless, unless it is from natural links that bring good organic traffic.

Bought two domains from godaddy auction...lost the PR in a couple weeks

If you toss back the same stuff that was on the domain and it has some good links, it might stick

How old is the domain name? If it is over 7 years old, and the exact phrase makes sense, get it.

As stated above, PR is meaningless. When we purchase aged domains, which may happen a bit more often than we should... lol... We never look at PR... literally, not even a consideration.

It's 9 years old. But one thing I've noticed is that it's had 16 changes on 10 unique name servers over the last 8 years. Does that matter?

Buy it for the age or just because you like the domain. PR is meaningless, particularly if the content that was in place when it got the PR no longer exists.

Often, the PR will disappear quickly without the content... at least by the next Google update.
