How do you guys keep track of the products you promote? I am messed up

I prommote a number of products and I many times forget them after following up for some time. I sometimes find out some of my promotions got results and I am required to fill W8 form or something to receive the payment. Then if I forgot to follow up on that product's promotion, I could end up loosing the commission. How do you keep track?

* Today I got notification of sales but couldn't find what URL I use to login into my infusionsoft acct. Messed up - tried for about 2 hrs but to no avail!

    Here's an idea...

    1. Make sure you organize/save any e-mails you receive with account/login information.

    2. Copy that information into a spreadsheet so that you have a easy access to that info whenever you need it. I've found spreadsheets to be very useful for this purpose.

Use excel or get a simple software created that can track the sales that you make. You could even get someone to create an excel template for you on fiverr or another site and then use that to record your sales.

First, you need a password management system.

    I recommend lastpass.

Second, you need a method to save all of your redirects/affiliate links.

I recommend excel. (preferably, office 2013 with the excel sheet saved in the cloud. Oh yeah baby).

I would suggest using an excel sheet like everyone is saying above. Put the product name and the affiliate link so that you can keep all of your stuff organized.

      Hope this helps,

      David

I second the votes for an excel spreadsheet to keep track of what you have going on and lastpass for never having to remember more than one password ever again.

Here's what I do. Figure out what email address they email you from when you get a sale. Then set up a filter in your email account that sends all emails from that address it to a specific folder. A folder where you receive all your payments when you make sales. That way you will pay attention to it.

It's hard to miss out on anything when you keep checking the folder repeatedly. It's actually quite fun. "I wonder if I made money while..."

Maybe it gets old. Not sure yet. Too soon to tell.

    Marc

PS. I also recommend LastPass like the above poster said. But make sure you NEVER forget the password. Make sure the HINT you make is soooo obvious to you (or write down the PW in a safe place.)

Why? Forget the password, and you're hosed. They don't save it on file. Supposedly.

I've used this software, installed on my PC, for the last 5 years.

    Internet Information Manager Affiliate Software

It doesn't look like Gary has updated the site in a while
    though.

I find myself using that piece of software practically every
    day.

My email has a search function -which I sort of think most all do- So if you see the search function click search, and when the search window opens just type infusionsoft into it and hit enter. It should bring up every email regarding infusionsoft that you have and you should be able to find your info that way.

You could also type infusionsoft welcome, or infusionsoft login, in that search window to perhaps narrow your search. Of course when I just start typing any of my previously visited sites in the browser window they usually bring up the link I am looking for and my browser usually inserts my login info automatically. I use Google Chrome -if that matters.

Also, I read in this string the suggestion of the Excel Template, and I just wanted to comment that this was a good suggestion, but if your system does not have Excel, you can use the Free OpenOffice ==>

Not an affiliate link, as it is Free. Just thought I would show you the option in case you needed it. I use it all the time and have never had an issue with it.

Good Luck! I hope I was helpful.

Like everyone had said, use a spreadsheet. The thing here is to create your own searching system / file structure that you are comfortable with. You will be able to find your information with the snap of your fingers. The simplest way i can think of is to keep a word document to keep all your information in one place and use the search function to dig anything out from there. Hopes this help.

My work is writing and proofreading. I keep a folder for each client. Within that folder is an excel spreadsheet which records every job I do, when and how much. I also keep a copy of all work I do in case it's ever needed for that client again.
All the folders are kept in a gigantic folder which I also keep backed up to several sources.

I also keep a separate excel spreadsheet with all income and expenditure.

Obviously every business is different but being methodical about your records is what will help you.

Use an online or desktop password/info recording software/service if you like, but I always keep a written copy. Just a cheap address book, and use the A-Z tabs to organise sites by name (A: Aweber, C: Clickbank,. Clicksure, etc and so on). Record the username and password (or a reminder of the password) for every account/site you sign up with or use. Then, if your computer ever dies and your password remembering software dies with it, or you're away on a trip and using a public or friend's computer, you can still log in to everything.

Started doing this when I was promoting adult sites last century, there were so many different affiliate programs I couldn't even remember what half of them were, never mind the logins for them. The address book solution worked a treat for recording hundreds of sets of sites and logins, and I still use it to this day. Old school still has it's advantages

This is something I had problems with myself way back when I first started and it can leave you very frustrated when you know you are losing revenue because you are not organised. I found using a excel spreadsheet was my best way to keep organised and know where to find all the details to log in and check places daily with no problem worrying about forgetting my account details.

I use spreadsheets for all my sites also. Works really great! For passwords I use Roboform and I keep backup copies of everything!

I have everything organized. I have a separate Internet marketing folder inside which I know where everything is.

I have sub folders for the courses I buy, my notes, the projects I'm currently doing, did or going to start, and pretty much everything.

I have a separate excel sheet that tracks all my promotions (this is the main excel sheet, it has the basic information like profit and expenses), and I have one excel sheet each for each of the promotions too (they each have all the tracking information, click information and so on) and I have word documents for each of the projects which have basic information like affiliate links, login details and any other information or account details I need to know for that particular method or project.

My dad is a stock marketer and he is all about keeping track of tons of data and analyzing them (you need to be on top of everything to make it in the stock marketing world), so it was kind of drilled into me from when I was young.

Try something like that. You might need to spend extra time everyday, but it'll save you the headache because even months or years later, you can come back and find your stuff easily.
