INTERNET MARKETING

This may sound like a stupid question to some, but bear in mind I am completely new to this!

I've just read an e-book from the private members section, centred around the idea of making money as an affiliate of products for sale on amazon in the nearby future through the use of youtube videos (reviews with links in description)

My Question: How is it possible to review a product without owning it yourself? Are you given it for free? Do you have to purchase it? What about products such as mobile phones? If there was a phone up for release in the next month, would there be a way of making a video review (outsource the actual video) without owning/having physically seen the product?

You may ask the vendor of the product to give you a review copy as you are an affiliate considering promoting it. However, most vendors will not give you a review copy if you are not known. They will most likely assume you are a customer just trying to get it for free.

Some sites like jvnotifypro.com do require vendors to give review copies to members, but still only if its a known member, not someone who just came on the site once and asked for a free copy.

Why not start reviewing products you own, and use regularly, instead of reviewing products you dont own?

Start by reviewing products you already own.

Then start buying cheap popular products to review.

You commission could easily surpass the cost if done well.

I wouldn't review something I don't own.

Like what Greedy said, review stuff you already have.

But ask yourself this: do car salesman who sell bmws and Ferraris actually own them?

No.. But they learn a lot about them.

Most Amazon Affiliate reviewers do not own ALL the products they review how could they? If they were promoting a site on fridges for instance how could they own 20 different fridges they were reviewing.

The idea is to find out as much information you can about a product and then aggregate that information to help the buyer make a decision using what you have compiled.

So you would find all existing reviews of the product on Amazon, wallmart etc as well as the product manual if it is available online, look at the manufactures website and then put together all the relevant information pros and cons in one place.

As the last poster mentioned know your niche as well become THE Expert on fridges or whatever.
