No refund option in Paypal :(

Hey guys, recently I made a payment to one of my seller, but unfortunately, after the payment, my seller tells me to apply for a refund, as according to him, his account is not verified, and therefore, he can't use the funds which I transferred to his account

Well, now if I apply for a dispute, it's gonna take me a lot of time to get the money back, so if he directly sends me a refund, that, according to me, might have been a better idea.

So I told him to directly give me a refund. And he replies 'there is no option for a refund'. Well, at this time I was almost convinced that he was bluffing, but after a little chat, he agreed to use teamViewer! and to my utter surprise, there actually was no option for a refund in the 'details' page in paypal.

Well, is there something like this for Unverified accounts ?

How can he send me the money back ?
thanks guys!

Tell him to verify his account.

I wouldn't be dealing with any seller who hasn't taken the time to verify their account.

      Exactly, Will!

I can't think of one reason why a business owner wouldn't verify their account except for the fact that they may be operating with less than stellar ethics.

... unless they have something to hide which means you probably shouldn't trust them.

That certainly falls under the bolded portion of my quoted post below.

File a complaint like everyone has said its probably the best thing to do in a situation like this.

No worry because unverified accounts can't withdraw money from their account unless they are verified. Even though he is unverified, he can send the payment to his real account and withdraw the money from there. I think you should file a claim asap.

If you paid him because he was due the money, that's his problem, forget about it.

If you bought something and it was ok. It's a done deal. His problem, forget about it.

If you bought something and there was a problem file a dispute.

    Hey,

In Paypal the best solution would be to file a dispute. This will bring the case forward to paypals notice. Then both of you will be given a choice to resolve the purchase,in the resolution center, there will be 3 options for the seller.

One of the options will be to seller - refund the money immediately - or if he fails to refund you, you can then turn the dispute into a claim, where someone from pay pal will review the case and make a decision based on evidence, documents and the case etc.

So create a dispute - then the seller will see a dispute has been opened. They will then have the ability to refund the FULL amount.

    Hope this helps

Agree that filing a dispute is the best way to handle this. If you don't, you will might be spinning your wheels. A dispute will get the issue resolved quickly.

Thanks ali, and everyone for the solutions. I'll try to file a dispute, if it gets the refund immediately.

I would never have dealt with him had I known his paypal is not verified! That's the sad part, they always think they will work a way around. When he wasn't able to refund me, that was the time he finally opened up and told me about his problem

I read a lot of bad experiences about paypal on the net, however, I have filed two disputes and both were accepted in a short time. I think Paypal is doing a good job.

After you file a dispute, your partner will be able to accept it and you can get the money back in a while. If he refuses to refund, Paypal will check the claim and decide whether to refund or not.

        Good luck!

I filed my 2 disputes to paypal and they resolved within a week. I am really happy with paypal and trust them. Even if youe seller is unverified, he can just send you money back by your paypal email even if he does not find a refund button (refund button stays there for a limited time, I guess, dont know exactly how long though).

It really doesn't make sense why would you file a complaint? That guy is not telling a lie. He showed you that already. Better contact PayPal, they are very good at communication and always respond you back, you can dial the number directly from your mobile or Land Phone. Talk to them and resolve the matter, they are very helpful, whatever the procedure may be they will guide you through. Don't worry.
