Do you guys ever feel depleted after selling off larger portions of your residual income? The sale itself was exhausting, and the lack of income isn't very welcome either. Granted, I got about 14 months of income from that site all at once, but I kinda miss the site. I am enjoying the cash, and looking forward to the business investments I can make with it, but I still miss my site. Just kind of miss what I saw coming from it every day. Google doesn't make it any easier by throwing up revenue warnings every time I log in.

I wouldn't know this feeling - because I have never sold anything off and never will - ESPECIALLY if it is making me money month on month.

And furthermore, I don't understand people who do this.

Please, if you would, and any others, share why you would do such a thing?

Well, I dint sell off my business, but I had a successful writing business, with writers and editors under me and all that, and I used to have money coming in my PayPal account everyday.
I had to stop the business because I couldn't spend full time on it, coz of college and all that.

It was a wise decision, bit I do miss the fast cash I used to make, and how busy I used to be all the time.

May I recommend starting up another so that you can get the empty feeling full again?

You know you can do it, you just proved it to yourself!

    Better get cracking. :p

Yup, this is my plan. I still have money making websites, so I'm alright there. I sold the site because I wanted investment income for larger projects. I'm also going to replace the residual with future projects. I was just tired last night and looking at adsense and going "sigh". lol. Feeling fine and motivated today. Time to "get cracking".

Now that is very refreshing news indeed!

I'm glad you are motivated today and I know the <sigh, alas> temporary moments that move in when your a bit tired and sit down, too.

Like what you've done, getting up and getting cracking again is what counts. Good luck to you and don't forget to have fun and enjoy it along the way.

This is the craziest thing you can do. I would never sell my residual income because this income will come in month after month forever.

I would start all over again and never sell your income to anyone else.

Profitable businesses get sold every day of the week. There is nothing wrong with that and in certain cases it makes smart business sense to do so.

What matters is what you do with the money. He could invest that money in new ventures that end up making a lot more money than the site ever would have.

That I know for a fact.

There are businesses that get sold for MILLIONS of dollars. That makes sense.

But when you have a website that is earning you $2,000 per month residual and you sell it for $20,000, that does not make sense to me.

Leave that site alone for 10 months and you will then have the $20,000 that you need.

Hey if you did it once, 14 months is waaaaay more than enough time to duplicate yourself X number of times with that cash. Think about the leverage!

You could easily spend 50% of what you earned from the sale of that site and probably turn it into 10 more, right? How quickly could you get them earning though?

I guess it depends on your business model. Not sure on the turn around time on earning from adsense sites, tbh. Good luck!

    • I regret sell over 5k+/mo residuals from one of my merchant account portfolios. It was a big mistake even though it was a nice chunk up front. I missed out on a lot of cash doing that... I have three other portfolios I will never let go.

    I sold a site 4 year ago for $25,000.

I still bring it up in the browser every now and then and sigh ...

Though on surface it doesnt make sense to sell a cash cow.

But there are many underlining reason why someone would sell it.

    You never know .

Because you've invested so much time and effort that's why you've been attached to it.
Continue your passion by building again another website.

Don't sacrifice your creation instead think ways to make it away from a tight spot,
As talfighel said "I would never sell my residual income because this income will come in month after month forever".

But I think you have a good reason why you need to sell it.
