Fiverr Solo Add Issue!

Okay guys, I have just done a little test on one of the solo gig providers on fiverr.

The gig advertised the following

I will send your add to double optin list of 300K, opportunity seekers Worldwide anxious to see your opportunity / product!

Pretty straight forward so I booked the gig.

About 5 days later I receive a confirmation email that the email had been sent, and it just so happened that I was at my computer so I opened my google analytics straight away.

Visitors started to appear almost immediately and during the course of about 5 hours I got about 1000 visits on the intended offer page, some spilling out to other parts of my website. (many clustered from the same area in the US)

But not 1 signup for the download, no interaction whatsoever, no likes on the facebook, no clicks on the social sharing buttons. You would also expect visitors over the next few days even weeks as emails were opened but that didn't happen either. I only received visitors for that 5 hour period.

After leaving positive feedback "Plenty of traffic but no leads even on a free product download" I received a message from the seller

"I'm sorry you didn't get any leads Dave ...it does happen that way sometimes -
I'll tell you this though (and please don't take offense) I've been an online marketer for a very long time & honestly, technology has made eBooks a thing of the past .. hardly anyone use's them anymore & even fewer people download them due to having access to so much free information available"

So am I to believe that opportunity seekers in the IM niche no longer use or download FREE ebooks.

Not only that, the seller also offers

* I will double your order and send your ad to over 600,000 verified, double opt in opportunity seekersAdditional 2 days +$5

* I will put your link in my guaranteed traffic monster and send you HUGE amounts of real traffic fastAdditional 2 days +$10

* I will send your ad to my special "10 Million Member" list +$10

10 MILLION MEMBER LIST? would any Internet marketer with a 10 million member list be selling gigs for $5? I doubt it!

Anyway, I wasn't expecting much and that is exactly what I got.

Anyone with any thoughts...

Fiverr gigs that offer traffic are useless, unless you just want to increase your Alexa rank, or something that doesn't involve conversion. All these guys do is send your URL or links to a huge bunch of webmasters that agree to visit each others page in the hope they get visits too... So it ends up the people who come to your site are just doing to fulfil an obligation. Nothing else.

yea, honestly I would not use Fiverr for traffic because its useless traffic unless if maybe you are targeting a youtube video or something trying to raise your views. I would just use fiverr for things like SEO etc.

Fiverr traffic is worthless if you like to build something, ooh maybe Facebook likes, but that is about it. I wouldn't spend a penny on crap like that. You should check for real Solo Ad Vendors instead.

Good to know... I was tempted at one time to test this out and even thought I wasn't very optimistic about it, I thought that there was little to lose. I pretty much figured that it would be junk traffic or some sort of automated thing. Thanks for the heads up though

solo ads on fiverr are useless, they send spam traffic which is no use anyway.

Honestly, if I had over 300k worth of responsive subscribers, I would be on a beach enjoying the good life. Be cautious of anyone that is willing to provide you large amounts of traffic from their email list for almost nothing. If they coveted their list and treated it as it should be, they would be listed as a legitimate Solo Ad provider outside of Fiverr.

    Just my 75 cents worth!

Ya what everybody has said is true.... who on earth would sell that many clicks to someone for $5??? It doesn't make any since unless the traffic is crap.

C'mon dude... did you honestly think that anyone with even a marginally responsive list of that size would be selling ad spots for $5?

Think about it... if you have a 300K subscriber list and the average product blast converts at only .1% (which is a horrible conversion rate), that still equals 300 sales. And if you're selling a $30 ebook, that's a $9,000 payday.

Who in their right mind would trade that kind of value for just $5? (or even $500, for that matter).

You know what they say... if it sounds too good to be true...

You got what you pay for and on top of that the guy tells you "I am a complete moron". He uses different words but he is as dumb as dumb can be.

Now, the unfortunate thing with people that are lacking the needed intelligence: They know they can't product anything so they try to rob.

They call it "fiverr gig" but it's actually stealing: They take your money and deliver nothing but some computer dust.

    Moral of the story:

If something looks too good to be true (300k solo mailing for 5 bucks) it probably is.

I agree, all traffic gigs on Fiverr are pretty much worthless.

As DatingWorld says above, a bit of common sense with some of the gigs and Fiverr is awesome.

Don't do the solo ad thing on fiverr.

    Instead...build a list AS A FIVERR SELLER.

Its exactly what I did and if you think about it...that's a BUYERS LIST, which is FAR BETTER than a bunch of freebie seekers.

Mine has netted me at least $5000 over the last 2 months.

    Hope that was helpful.

I love Fiverr but not for traffic. There are some things it is no good for. As someone else has said. If he had a 300K responsive list he certainly wouldn't be giving away traffic for 5 bucks. Just like every thing. I always look at their fiverr rankings first, but even that is not a guarantee.
      Good luck

As I said in my post I was only doing a test. I was not expecting anything only to find out exactly what I would get for $5

I have run many successful solo ads and wanted to compare the stats on my google analytics.

I also wanted to share the info on here to save other WF members from wasting their money.

And also try to find out exactly where the traffic he sends was coming from.

Good and thanks for posting your results so others can see what happens.

But. Why are you screaming SCAM?

It's time this forum used one of those auto-replace thingies. Almost everyone who screams scam hasn't been scammed at all.

For others reading this. When you read these ridiculous ads on Fiverr, try reversing the process:

Imagine you are a member of this 300k strong "responsive" list. Everyday you are being sent random promos for random things. (Clearly they are random as I doubt that the seller only accepts what they think are relevant gigs.) How long will you stay on the list and how interested do you think you would be in the offers?

Btw - did you find out where the traffic came from?

I am not screaming scam because I have been scammed I am pointing out that the gig itself if a scam.

My point was that it isn't a 300k list at all, the traffic came from all around the world, but seemed to be from one area eg 278 visitors from Florida - not what you would expect from a genuine email campaign.

So in my opinion it is most definitely a scam and it should not be replaced with an 'auto-replace thingy'

I'll tell you exactly what you're most likely going to get from a $5 "solo ad" -- not a single real visitor! (it's very easy for someone to program a "bot" script to ping your page thousands of times over a set period of time from different proxies all around the world, so that it looks like real people from all over the world are visiting your site - but it's all from an automated bot).

The irony of it is... the bot probably used up $5 worth of bandwidth on your server!

Sadly, I would assume that most of the "solo ad" and "traffic" gigs on Fiverr use automated bots, or some other equally ineffective method (such as safelists, or fake social media accounts with a bunch of fake "friends", etc). Which is why I would never purchase any "traffic" gigs from Fiverr.

Think about it... if someone controls a large source of quality traffic, they are going to be using it for themselves (and profiting nicely), instead of pimping it out to every man and his dog on Fiverr for chump change.

That said, I think Fiverr can be good for some things (I've actually gotten some pretty decent graphic work done there, believe it or not). But for anything related to traffic, SEO, etc... forget it... complete waste of time.

I'm not too sure about that. Just checking the comments from the 1st review has put me off.

My Results from Abel Chua's Solo Ads | Solo Ad Directory

      e.g.
I purchased 100 Click Opt In Solo Ads from this person. All optins were from the same IP address. Many were consecutive email addresses like xxxx056, xxxx057, xxxx058, xxxx058, xxxx060 etc. I did not notice this untill I recieved an email from AWEBER regarding violation of my terms of service. I reported Fraud to PayPal as I suspect these were computer generated leads and not flesh and blood opportunity seakers.

I'm not sure I would recommend that website.

You can track the website that gig provider use.
The Traffic came from a website that need a monthly subscribe, to use the huge list they have.

The common question with that kind of gig would be, if you had a list of that size then, why would you be looking for $5 sales less Fiverr's 20% cut? Does the vendor have any proof that, they have an opt in list of that size by way if screenshot or video.

If you had an email list of 300k then, you would be making a fortune on affiliate sales by law of numbers even if it wasn't highly targeted.

        Couldn't agree more.

I am still curious as to where all the traffic came from though, due to how fast it all arrived and it's behaviour it was definitely not from people opening emails.

Think for a second. A guy selling solo ads has 25 friends. These 25 friends each have 25 different email accounts.

Let your imagination run wild with the devious possibilities. Solo ads are hot right now and the bottom feeders are out there playing the suckers. People are spending far more than $5 to learn the lesson you just got. Be glad you just dropped five bucks.
