I am thinking about starting an mlm company. The product will be an ebook on fantasy football secrets. What steps do I need to accomplish this?

I'm definitely no mlm expert but I don't see how your product idea can make it.. I've just never heard of an mlm based on selling an ebook.

The Key to starting a good MLM is having a product that does not really exist, but people think it does.

Unicorns are out, magical soap powder is in.

Next, work on a David Koresh style persona and recruit a few people who believe in your magical soap powder and want to recruit others (wide eyes and bad skin is a good clue here) ..

When it all goes to hell in a washing basket (and it will) and you have payed off your attorneys .. rinse and repeat ( with a new soap powder MLM )

The most important (and maybe also most urgent) thing you need is professional advice from a lawyer who specializes in advising MLM start-ups. It's a legal quagmire of regulations and compliance problems, and it varies hugely from country to country (and in the US from state to state). The proportion of MLM businesses which survive for as long as a year or two is terribly small (always said to be considerably smaller than for other types of business), and I believe that quite a significant proportion flounder quickly, largely because of lack of appropriate legal advice at the start.

Sweet niche idea.

The word you're searching for might be "affiliate" instead of MLM.

Affiliates also share in the profits.

The difference might be a small one in your mind, but 'round here they are worlds apart.

Please forgive me if MLM is what you're after, though.

I suggest that you mindmap exactly what you want to do it will further help you to clarify the path to take. When you do get started and you want to build more people to your business you could host a meetup using meetup.com a lot of MLM groups get on there to interact so you can utilize that site to build your business further.
