PS4 squeeze page for contest site: please could you critique?

In terms of graphics i like the color scheme very nice and original. Just try and make the optin form stand out a bit more.

I think that your page looks really nice. The layout and graphics are all good in my view.

You can also ask the person to enter their name too.

Do you think it would come across as tacky if I was to put a "Win" image or something on there? Should I be pushing harder to get the viewer to submit their email?

As far as making the optin stand out more, I was thinking I could add a semi-transparent white background behind it and change the font colours to suit.

I wasn't sure about asking for a name in the opt-in - will set up a split test when it goes live of opt-in with/without name field.

This is my first venture into the gaming and contests field, so fingers crossed!

I like the colours, it appears quite simple, which is great.

I think the logo is a little hard to read though.

Making tweaks to the full site and getting ready to go live. I'm hoping this is going to get a lot of interest

I really like it but I am not diggin the font. Whatever font "The amazing PS4: Could you be our 1st winner?" is in I feel doesn't exactly match the dark techy feel of the page, the new PS4 controller dominates the page, as it should, it's an awesome picture, you should grab a font that compliments that.

As for fonts, I might change the font to a google font such as Google Fonts Permanent Marker or maybe Google Fonts Chela One or perhaps Google Fonts Emblema One (I'm gonna update the logo with the same font too - which do you guys think is the most "techy"? I'm swaying towards the emblema one.)

Initial stats are looking pretty good with very little seo and social building... I've decided to go live with an initial US contest but will be opening up to Canada/EU ones shortly with a full launch. I'm gonna monitor other country visits and maybe introduce contests for the ones with the biggest interest in my site.

Really like the colours on the website and the image. One thing I would say though is that on the first line you have written "lucky winners free a Playstation 4", which grammatically doesn't sound correct and I would change it to "lucky winners a free Playstation 4". Other than that the website looks good!

Try to make sure that the visitor knows EXACTLY what they
need to do which is to opt into your list.

So maybe try to make the opt in form more visible maybe.

Test it against another version using Google Experiments (FREE)

Everything looks great except for the optin box. Try to customize it and make it look better. Don't use the standard aweber optin box. Customize it with CSS. Also, you may want to fade the background image with your black background on the side. It will look better. Other than that it's great!

Ok first off youll probably get more response if you put this in the copy writing forum.

Now that being said lets move on to this: I honestly have to wonder if people on here just say 'Yea thats a great squeeze page" without even thinking about it. Here is my critique:

1) Twitter button takes people away from the squeeze page. There should be no links off the page. I mean you want people to op in right? So then why are you giving them a way to leave without opting in.

2)Your giving away a PS4 but your head text is "the amazing PS4 will you be the first to get one" ... wow I read that and 1 I wasnt excited and 2 I didnt know that there was a contest going on. Change this to something like "ENTER NOW TO WIN A PS4!"

3) Change the sub heading text: You have "enter your email address to find out how you can enter to win ...." So I have to give my email address just so you will tell me how I can enter? Like I have to then sign up somewhere else or something IDK but it doesnt make me want to enter my email address for sure. Keep it short and sweet "Enter your email address below for a chance to win ... "

4)The Aweber form kind of is ugly, this is an opinion thing though so thats not to big of a deal.

I like the idea but the think the layout is a bit much. If your only looking for the op-tin, you can make it simpler, with the form and a good background. Have it like this the header "Win A Free PS4!"and optin centered and a good pic of the ps4 in the background.

The opt in box looks like it doesn't belong but everything of interest is above the fold. Just my .02

workin on the css for the optin now, it's new to me - at least I'm learning something new!

Can't comment on the copy itself (as I'm terrible at it myself...) but as a gamer I would likely ignore this without a second thought. There's too much text, the image stands out in a bad way and the site page feels really cold.

As someone who's easily pulled in by visuals I'd recommend the following:

- Stick to a couple lines of text that both clearly present what's up for grabs ans what the visitors need to do.

- Incorporate more PS4 related imagery, not just the console itself.

- More color!
