I have just starting getting subscribers to my squeeze page (IM Niche)and I have 2 freebies that I send to my subscribers. My question is what type of products should I send to them to make money. The freebies are based on list building and Ive been looking @ clickbank and rapbank But I cant seem to find anything to send them. Also how often do you send your list affiliate offers? How will I know when my list is burnt out or when is it a good time to start a new list?

Do you see the problem, here?

It's explained in rather more detail in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ing-wrong.html

In addition to which, if the reports you're giving away are in "the list-building niche", then the products you promote need to be in "the list-building niche" as well. Don't, whatever you do, imagine that "all IM products and all MMO products are one niche" - that would be a big mistake.

Respectfully (and I do mean "respectfully": am not just saying it to be polite) the fact that you're unaware of these tricks and traps neatly illustrates why you're in the wrong niche.

    If
you start off by understanding the fundamentals of list-building, your list will never be burned out, it will be a healthy, vibrant, organic, regenerating thing of beauty and delight.

Understood ... but that isn't what list-building is all about, is it? It's more about having the products and continuity-process needed to promote them with a trust-based method worked out before you get started, so that you can set subscriber expectations accordingly. The money depends on that.

I wouldn't be able to write the "free report" for the opt-in without knowing what the products are going to be before I started. I wouldn't be able to come up with anything that would ensure a high open-rate and attention-rate.

I wouldn't be able to have a targeted, responsive list, that way, at all. I'd be wasting my time.

Ok ... I'll leave you to it, then. Good luck. (If you do encounter great difficulties and have an ultra-low open-rate and no sales, you can always come back to the threads listed above, if you want).

In reality, from what you've posted here, it seems that you know how to get people to trade their email for your freebie. If that's how you define "list building", then indeed you already know it.

You picked a niche, built a squeeze page and started driving traffic before you had any clue about what you wanted to do beyond some vague notion of 'promoting stuff'. You aren't the first one to put the cart in front of the horse. Heck, you aren't even the first one today.

If you truly can't find anything appropriate on either Clickbank or RAPbank, you might try here:

        Affiliate Program Directory*

You might also want to ask your new list members what their specific challenges are, then seek a product that allows them to beat those challenges.

Or you could do what many so-called marketers do. Start throwing mud at the wall and see what sticks. If you take this approach, though, you'd better be darn good at getting people to opt-in, because you'll burn out a list quickly using churn and burn tactics.

I feel you are wasting your time. The OP won't get why it's a problem that he's building a list in the list building niche despite not knowing how to build a list because he took "the money is in the list" literally AGAIN like a thousands other people on this board who read that sentence and thought 'building a list' meant buying an autoresponder sequence and adding emails to it = instant profit.

        Shut up.

It's never best to do that and it is what he's already doing and he's already failed miserably.

Anyone can drive junk traffic to squeeze pages then bribe them for an (often fake or rarely checked) email address. That's the easy part.

The hard part is what to do with them next.

If you aren't at the stage where you are even able to find products then do your subscribers a favour and delete your list.

    GD,

The very premise of what Internet Marketers do suggests that you are providing help/information/guidance/assistance/authority in the niche(s) that you build lists and sell (or refer) products.

You are helping others solve their problems, ease their pains, save time or money, or in some way make their lives better.

As Alexa so eloquently and patiently pointed out (since these types of posts appear daily on this forum) those who are brand new to the IM business and its related sub-niches are typically not prepared to provide guidance and help to prospects until they themselves have some experience and knowledge in the niche.

Of course you are free to do as you please; but I would suggest you pick a different niche to begin your IM career - one that you have some knowledge in, or experience with, or passion for so that you can give honest and expert advice to your list subscribers.

From the prospect's perspective, would you ask for advice or guidance or help in the list building niche if you knew that the list owner was asking strangers in a forum "I need help with my list-building"?

    Good luck to you,

    Steve

Ensure that your products aren't TOO broad.

One of my favorite things to do is to break the email list into smaller segments. Say if it is within internet marketing, then do affiliate, CPA, PPD, etc.

Then, it'll be much easier to find products to promote to that particular segment.

    Good luck!

That's exactly what the OP is doing, Jack. Did you read the thread, at all? Sometimes it helps to read at least the first post, before replying ... or at least the first sentence, in which he explains that.

When I build a list, I generally plan on offering them products
specifically related to the niche/product that got them to join
the list... since I know that that interest was strong enough to
entice them to give up their email address.

I NEVER clump my subscribers into one large list, although
in some of my autoresponder sequences, I do ask them to
join my general internet marketing list.

I also NEVER assume that they are going to burn out. I personally
don't usually expect them to buy from me right away, and often
don't hit them with an offer right away... realizing that if I do
    a certain percentage will buy.

I prefer the slower, long-term approach, rather than the
churn-n-burn... although some people do VERY well using that
    model.

As far as what products to offer them... the WSO section is
a good place to start. Warrior+ and JVZoo both provide stats
on how well a given product is selling. I'm sure other platforms
do to... but I'd begin there. Look for products related to your
tightly focused niche that are selling well, get a copy of the
product and actually go through it, and if it lives up to the promises
    made, consider promoting it.

When I look at the stats provided for WSO's, I also look at
EPC's, and refund rates is very important to me. Not only does
that show that the product displeased a lot of customer (or
attracted a lot of serial refunders), it also screws with your history
at Paypal... and could attract undue attention there.

Your priority is to sell your own products, it' far more profitable and a far better use of your time

promoting affiliate offers is just an extra way of making a bit of extra income now and again, you should not be looking at promoting affiliate offers as a your main way of making money from your list

this is why so many list builders burn their list out because they just promote offer after offer until the list is burned out

i'm afraid this is the average mentality of most list builders

even if you only have 1 product that you own then sell that, at least then you will be building your buyers list

then while you are doing this you can begin creating your next product for the buyers of your first product, (and it continues like this)

i personally only ever do promotions to my list when i find something which i think my subs and customers would really benefit from which is only a couple of times per month sometimes less

start planning and mapping out your sales funnel now so that you know exactly what to do and what you should be working on rather than just keep looking for the next product to promote

when it comes to list building it's all about your funnel

That seems so often that is how things go in the IM niche, the blind leading the blind. That is why so many people complain that there is so much garbage in the IM niche. The people who don't know what they are doing are teach others how to do it.

What if you were to switch up your approach at branding? You clearly don't know about list building, and that is ok
Why not be honest and brand yourself as a marketers who has recently begun building my list. I am now seeing results and thought I would share them with you along the way. When I find something that works you will be the first to know.

***Careful here as you will need to actually promote things that work! Not as hard as it sounds even if you don't have proof yourself. This is a whole different story. Hope that helps.
