I earned almost nothing in my first 4 months (because I had no idea what I was doing, and couldn't tell information from misinformation, or even reliably understand - in this context - the difference between fact and opinion).

Originally Posted by hsbinmarket View Post

I decided that straight away. Wrongly. And ended up abandoning my first ones, because I'd failed to appreciate that (for very good and very reliable reasons) the niches in which the most money is made are also the niches in which beginning marketers are least likely to make any money at all.

    This might help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8192216

And the general "niche-selection factors" discussed in this post, too: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8156938

Take your time. Most people don't fail through "lack of taking action" at all; they fail through setting off in the wrong direction. But that's just opinion, not necessarily fact.

(I think many people will read the title of your thread as "How long should it take ...", but you might make it easier for some by actually putting the word "long" in the title, too. )

Don't decide niches! Try with every best one you encounter. predicting guaranteed results wont help you but trying to make it in the most interesting niches you choose.

If you think you've lost and need some guidance, you're not! You just need some more knowledge and resources as well as research to get started.

This is me when I started..

    fitness niche.. No luck
animal niche .. indeed no luck.
IM niche... made no money indeed.
gaming niche.. made my day worst.

Moved back to IM niche and made my life. but why did I failed for the first time?

Fitness niche.. Wasn't interested or got any knowledge but just started because I thought it is fast money maker.
animal niche... I love animals but can't express them in products.
gaming niche... Hell yes for playing games but what about marketing in it? thought It will work but end up having nothing.

So.. Experience and attempts is all you need to market a successful niche. and yes you don't need a mentor at all. just rise up and try again. warriors are here to help you!

    Good luck!

Took me 3-4 months of hard work before I had any success.

Well, make a decision and get rocking. That is how you start.

Keep reading WarriorForum, and keep testing things. Be committed to success, make it the only option. Dedicate yourself to being the best in your niche.

    Hey,

It depends on your niche and your type of promotion actually. If you were doing paid promotion, you can start seeing profits immediately (if you knew what you were doing).

It might take some time for other niches. A blog with not too much competition takes an average of 3-6 months to start seeing some money (at least for me it does).

And yeah, as Greedy said, choose one fast. Make sure that you have interest in the niche (if you are really passionate about it, then great!) but also check if there are affiliate programs or any such monetizing programs for that niche.

There's no set "time frame" about how long it takes to make money online. It all depends on your marketing strategy, how much you're investing into advertising, and what your conversion funnel is like.

You can't think in terms like, "Okay, i'm going to write 100 articles and submit them to the article directories. By the end of that, i should have 1 sale for my $50 product." Doesn't work like that.

      It depends.

It's funny you should mention that! Internet marketing is a lot like fishing, some beginners will fish for years without actually knowing how to consistently catch fish.

Sure you can just throw your line out with some live bait and get lucky but most serious fishermen use lures in which they go to the fish instead of letting the fish come to them.

Fishing just like marketing is all about testing lure type and color to weather conditions and under water structure, sunny or overcast, choppy or calm, deep or shallow, dropoff, sandbar or riprap.

And then there is tracking! Taking notes after a successful catch such as what the water temp is, color of lure, water depth and structure type.

Having a log of your catches will increase your success, next time out on the water you can examine the conditions and look it up in your log, if you have previously caught fish in the same conditions then you would start with the same exact lure and chances are that you will be successful.

And that closes another chapter of fishing 101.

It also depends on what you decide to pursue or tackle. You could be making money within the next 60 seconds, if you really wanted to. For example, write a quick article or opinion on places like BubbleWS.com or Slicethepie.com, and you'll be "earning online" right this second, technically speaking. The question becomes harder to answer the very moment you pursue more "creative" ways and more ambitious methods, including list building, product creation and others.

It really depends, when I first started I made my first sale in 3 days, as an absolute beginner with no education and I was nothing more than a factory worker.

I made $1,000 my first 14 days and $3,000 my first 30 days.

It really all depends on if you are tracking the right actions, and are willing to learn and do whatever it takes.

It only took me a few days of research to start finding ways to make money online.

There are plenty of good methods here, but it comes down to if you put effort into it and if you have common sense. I've had months where I would make up to $20,000+ from 3 main projects. I now average $8,000+ a month online just selling online services on one site, then more through private projects I've been doing for the last 9+ months now, which those are basically auto-pilot.

It really depends on so many factors. How hard are you willing to work, What are you doing to earn Money Online etc. From your question though I gather you want to make money and make it fast. Right? Here's something for you to think about. What IF you spend X amount of time to earn money but it doesn't work out? Are you going to give up?

Point is if you hit a roadblock, don't give up...ever!

Pick one thing and do it.

Avoid trying to get multiple concepts going at once as this is a sure path to failure.

The real key is that whatever you "think", you're at least partially wrong. So get 1 thing going quickly, get the customer feedback, and make the necessary adjustments.

    Launch, listen, improve, repeat.

If you never get into business, you'll never start the virtuous cycle so get started sooner rather than later.

How long is a piece of string?

It all depends on the amount of work you put in. Remember, it won't come overnight you need to really work at things at a steady pace and focus on quality and content. If you have something to offer of value then earning should follow soon after.

It could be one day or could be years before you start making money online.

It took me 7 months to start earning enough with webhostin-land to cover expenses and now at almost 10 months of being in business it's making a slight profit finally.

Earning money online doesn't happen overnight. It takes patience and lots of hard work.

I'm quite new into internet marketing but I'm making some decent amounts of money and I had a really good knowledge in most of the niches. How ? Well, It all comes down to logical thinking and how fast you learn. I.. for example started reading weight gaining for 3 days and I actually corrected my coach a lot of times ( who has 2 years of experience ).

Believe it or not, my friend has been into internet marketing for 10 years trying all kind of stuffs and I've been into it for barely 3 months and I know more than him. I'm usually the one teaching him techniques, (usually those I came up with myself for more sales)

You should tell yourself the question, are you a logical thinker ? If you are, don't think about internet marketing as something hard.

Think about it more as a game and that you need to get some numbers on your gaming account to beat your friend. ( I did that in the begining because it was easier to realize that I made money because while you make some good money online, it can be hard to believe it in the begining )

Also, imo, start thinking about what you will like instead of what others will like. When you visit your own sites, what would you like too see ? What would make YOU buy the product ? If you can start think like that, it'll be a lot easier.

Be aware! I don't know how this things will work on you, first of all I'm thinking in a logical way and I'm a fast learner. I've watched my grandfather repair cars and I can do it myself if I just watch it once. Try to memorize every details

Also don't buy too many WSO's to get overwhelmed with information. Most of them will only tell you to buy a domain, get a webhost, get wordpress, do a keyword research, write articles, etc... The regular stuff in fact.

I'll cut it here. I don't want to write too much information. Remember think in a logical way and learn I have so much to tell so It would be possible for me to write a book on how too look in a logical perspective on things

    Goodluck

There is no set timeframe for earning online. There are many different options. What you want to do is narrow it down to what you enjoy and just consistently work at it. Seek education and knowledge day by day and eventually you will be surprised at how much you know and what you are able to do. Also, make sure that you are adding value to people and the money will eventually come.

Buy one WSO that lays out a plan that you think you have enough skills to follow. Read the Warrior Forum or search for topics if you don't know what to do. There is a Youtube video for almost everything you want to know, especially skill-set wise.

Many of us Warriors failed as fast as possible at many things and many niches before realizing that what we loved the most is what brought the most profit.

Read and learn here for free. Take advantage of the Free Wsos and join the War Room if you can. There are years of info here that you could use without buying a thing.

The most driven people here are the ones who found ONE business model that worked and then began to drive all of their traffic and focus to building that one niche before moving on. Just don't give up...don't spend thousands of dollars on programs before you find that special niche and then give it all your attention and then some.

Don't be distracted...unsubscribe from all but a few lists that focus on your business model that you have chosen.

There are many ways to skin the internet marketing cat - hundreds of them. Find one or two ways to drive traffic and do it over and over until you find out what works.

It all depends on how long it will take you to start earning an income as, I failed horribly for 3.5 years... I have been successful for a little less than a year and a half...

If you would like to Fast Track your success you should really consider getting a Mentor, Yes they are expensive but well worth it...

About your niche, Some people may disagree with me but im telling you from my own personal experience that you need to do your research on a Niche that you 1. Know About & 2. One that you are passionate about and after you get that out of the way do more research and make sure there is a market for it...

I always say that a safe time frame (if you stick at it) is 12 months.
I would almost guarantee, lets say for instance, you created content each day for 12 months you would be generating enough traffic to earn money by the end of the year.

I've been in your shoes. It took me a year and six months before I found any success online.

This will help you. Go to ClickBank and find products with a gravity between 10 and 20.

This means that affiliates are making money from these product but not so many affiliates that you stand no chance of competing.

So once you've found your product with a gravity of say "14" then you know that you have a converting product.

Then all you need to do is send some traffic to it.

If you don't know SEO then learn it. This will be your best chance of sending traffic in the beginning without blowing your budget.

Go after keywords with OK search volume (1000-5000 exact searches per month) and low competition.

If you have no budget then create DECENT YouTube videos to drive traffic (again focus on those same keywords).

This is very basic stuff but sometimes we forget about the basics (or we're never taught the basics) and this is what holds us back.

I wish you the best of luck.

      - Simon
I really feel strength in me.

Depends on how soon you act on it. You know, sometimes it took so much time finding ways how to get started. Just focus on one internet marketing campaign that want to do and perfect it until you get decent profits. Good Luck!

Most people don't start making any money for a few months anyway.

Just take action, I know it's hard to actually commit to anything but you need to decide on your niche then you can start to progress.

There is no black and white answer to how long it takes you to start earning because different business methods take longer to setup than others.

For example, someone could probably start an article writing business and get paid today. You can have your offer online in just 5 hours or so...

Hours 0-2: Write 2-3 portfolio articles.
Hours 2-4: Create a sales letter for your offer including those articles.
Hours 4-5: Create Paypal button. List your offer on Warrior for hire.

If you price yourself reasonably, you'll get orders today. Paid up front, via Paypal.

However if you decide to release your own product, it could take anything between a few days and a few weeks to get everything prepared and then get paid.

Any review blog, amazon associates site, adsense site, likewise.

I personally have launched many service offers in the past and received the first buyer within 24-48 hours. If you want fast cash, providing services is the way forward.

hello OP, unfortunately - how long is a piece of string?
What I do know is that you need to do something to start the activity and don't sit on the fence and talk about it; I don't mean put everything into one basket but you need to look at a particular product; see if it is aligned with your beliefs & goals and, at least, start & get going...... hope this helps.

I was the same as you three years ago, I was extremely confused how to make money online,
I had to learn from a very generous guy who taught me many things on what exactly to do. I did follow his tactics and started earning money from the very beginning.
You do need to concentrate, don't lose your concentration.
    Be committed
    Be inspired
    Gain more knowledge
and very soon you will b there.
    Good Luck Mate

There is more than enough info you could find on warriorforum. Depending on how much effort you put into it, it could take anywhere from few months to few years.

You can learn so much on here, even TOO much some times

The answer to how long it takes to start earning online varies from person to person. The methods you are using will also have an impact on how long it takes. Selling something on eBay for example is going to give you much faster money than affiliate marketing. Most of the time anyway.

I was lucky as I dropped onto a training program that showed me step by step how to make money online in any niche. I started with no list, no knowledge and no clue what to do. After a week I had my first sale and begone to build my list. Each week after that grew more customers and a bigger list.

Education is the key! Even if it's what not to do, or where to find your tools and how to use them. Everyone on here will have their favorites and know them inside and out. They more than likely market them too! Lets face it if things that you use work and you can be an affiliate then why not market them to everyone?

Learn something new each day about what you're doing. About different niches, tools, sites and products.

Last but not least! If you get stuck ask for help in Forums!!!! Just like you have!

It is really hard to say how long it will take to make your first money.

I earned my first $20 within 3 days, no idea how and did not manage to earn close to that for 6 month.

Now i have become much better at choosing niches and can make a site within one week that starts earning money.

This is what is always ask myself before starting a website?
      1. Are they searching to buy something?
      2. Are they searching for infomation, if yes do people buy that infomation?
      3. Is there potential to make a website that is better than currently ranking websites?
      4. Is the potential for more than 1000 visitors per day if i get good rankings?
      5. Are the products on amazon related to my niche? if yes are people buying them?

If i can answer yes to all these things I have have a good chance to make some money, because: People are looking to get information they are willing to pay for or they are looking to buy a product. The websites currently ranking for keywords are build with no passion, and i know i can make it better. And i know i can get enough traffic to my site to actually make some money.

I am actually stopped looking for the competetion( not really) but i mostly just look if i think a am able to build a better website. Because eventually i will start to get some traffic and people will link to my content instead of compititors.
