My Best Converting, Highest Paying Upsell Is A Freebie!

When I "listen to" my fellow Warriors mostly seem to talk about their
funnels containing IMMEDIATE one-time-offers, rather than taking the
time to build a relationship first... I sometimes wonder if I'm out
of touch.

You see, I DON'T generally hit new subscribers with an OTO, and
upsells and downsells as soon as they meet me. I'm old-school
enought to actually start building a relationship first.

Yes, I let them know that I DO sell products and services right from
the beginning, but I don't feel the need to hit them with an offer
right away.

However, I've just noticed that what is actually working best for
me, and proving most profitable IS to hit them with an immediate
upsell, as soon as they join my list, but the upsell is a freebie...
an invite to a high-content webinar.

That freebie webinar seems to be a fast-track to showing them that
I CAN and DO deliver a lot of value into their lives, and then at
end of the webinar, as is fairly typical, they are offered an
opportunity to purchase.

What they are offered at the end of the webinar depends upon the
source of the traffic, and I've discovered some traffic that
consistently converts at over $3 per click... and over $8 per lead.

You have to admit that that is not bad for freebie seekers who are
then offered another freebie in the form of a webinar :-)

It's a pretty sweet formula though :-)

Willie

    I love this idea, Willie.

Getting people to hear your voice and experience your wisdom is second to none. I never thought of using that as an OTO!

The art of selling without selling, and with so many marketers,
their download pages are a piece of grossly under-used virtual
      real estate!

    Is the webinar pre-recorded?

Yes, it is. That gives my customers greater flexibility in when they
watch it, doesn't require me to change things out so often and
doesn't seem to matter to customers.

      I don't pretend that it's live.

It's so true. I see a lot of marketers using software that automates pre-recorded webinars so they still look live.

I think most customers really don't care. All they want is to see the webinar, whether it's live or not.

Just be upfront with them. They will hate you more for lying to them rather than just playing them a pre-recorded webinar.

Lots of people appreciate being able to watch a webinar at a time
          of their choosing.

Also, the majority of people who sign up for live webinars that I
host/promote assume that there will be a recording and therefore
often don't attempt to make the live call.

I tend to favor evergreen, proven webinars anyway though. If you
have something that works and you know your numbers, then you
even feel comfortable throwing paid traffic at the webinar. It all
becomes simple math at that point and monitoring your results to
make sure that there are no drastic changes.

I've found the exact opposite to be true. Most people do not want to watch anything other than a live webinar. Send them to a pre-recorded one and hardly anyone wants to watch IME.

I don't send traffic to prerecorded webinars anymore as they would not convert.

That's a brilliant idea. The webinar as a build up to the sell... at that conversion rate you really are on to something. Will incorporate this into my IM efforts. Thanks Willie!

I imagine it'd also be effective for sending them to other people's webinars. Though the fact they don't care if it's prerecorded makes me think it'd be no problem to outsource to someone to create a webinar for my products.

Yes, I most often send them to other people's webinars. I find out
about really high converting webinars, get a copy of the replay and
watch it myself, and if it's something that I can feel good about
providing to my customers, and is somewhat evergreen, then I
        plug it into my backend.

I also haven't taken the time to create a really high-converting
        webinar myself
