Craigslist Phone Verifications

Question for you Craigslist experts out there. Do you know what triggers a Craigslist account to ask for phone verification? Is it based on the number of posts, or frequency of posts or content or something else?

Craigslist asked me to verify my phone number after two posts.

I think it might be two posts within 48 hours, I am not entirely sure.

This is normal Craigslist procedure. Most of the time you have to verify a new account on the first or second post. If you have to verify ever again any time after that there is a problem with your ip showing a different location outside your normal posting area. As long as you wait 48 hrs between post you're good.

content/ip/browser thumbprint have been biggest factors from my experience.

Could be any number of reasons, like what section you're posting in, or certain words in your ad, the frequency of your posts, etc.

I do craigslist for leaving. Dating section is free of PVAs, but the rest you will need to have phone number. If you ever need to buy PVAs numbers let me know, I can get them for you. if you are in USA make sure you get DSl services with dynamic Ip adress with At&t. if you only using one account then you dont need it.

I use a $9.99 phone from Radio Shack. Well, it is a great way to not get a million phone calls to you regular phone number which can get annoying. Also, it is good for posting your number in blogs and other places as mostly I use the cheap phone for promos. Do not want a million calls when the promo is over. Sadly, I will get calls from craigslist years after I post an ad - yes years.
