Do Not Call List and Phone Marketing

Hey everyone, working with a local customer and was trying to find more information about the do not call list and phone marketing. A local business that I have been working with had some questions about the do not call list and if they can still effectively market their services via the phone.

Has anyone here had any such experience an is there a place to see if someone is on the do not call list so as to not obviously break the rules.

There's a loophole to the list though, you can't do anything if you can't catch the phone number and company name. This is the reason why most marketers now block their ID from showing in caller IDs as they can't be sued that way.

I think any legitimate business can check the link above to "scrub" their phone lists. This is one government program that has worked as fines have been heavy and prosecutions have been pursued.

The general public was so fed up with telemarketing that people have been diligent about reporting unsolicited calls.

The company is 50/50 calling individuals and other businesses I do not think they will have a problem with other business as I believe the do not call list is for individuals only. Hopefully someone has some experience with this.

Yes, I believe you are right, I've done plenty of b2b cold calling and if you are brief and to the point, business owners will not object to you calling, and if they do they can always hang up

Don't take this to the bank, but from my research business phones cannot be added to DNC list.

Are either you or your client a member of a phone marketing system, or just making local calls for a service/product.

      Hi Bizsouth,

I read somewhere that business phones cannot be added as well(cannot find where again).

I have not done any telemarketing for my business just WOM and some local ad buys, so no I am not a member(what are the advantages).

The business itself would just be making local calls within the same general area code.

The advan is getting messages to large amounts of targeted buyers and having a built in DNC scrubber. I have more info that might be of help only if he has a large list or his prod/service would appeal to the general population. It doesn't sound like a right fit for your client. I don't have enough post to email you. When I do I'll ask if you want the information before sending it. I have a reason for not passing it through the forum.

I have an outsource telemarketing company. You need to get your list scrubbed. It's not that hard. Check the link above first. There are a few companies that will do it for you. Most likely if you buy your list from them, but they will also do it for a price.
