How do you master individual marketing methods?

No matter how long you have been doing something or
how accomplished you think you've become at a particular
task or business, I'm always amazed at how there is
always something new to learn that feels completely foreign.
Internet Marketing challenges occur on a constant basis usually
daily, and the changes that occur as to what works and what
doesn't in marketing a business can be a bit frustrating.

My space, twitter, article submission, online classifieds,
emails, forums, etc. when first learning can be very challenging
until we grasp it and then move on to the next marketing strategy.
Sometimes it's frustrating, and sometimes it's exciting.

Most of the time I think it's exciting! Especially when
it clicks and you master it. Overcoming Internet Marketing
challenges feels very empowering.

First, make a list what your Internet Marketing challenges are
and what you feel you have yet to master.

Check your list and decide to learn all you can about that one
challenge. Let say it's My Space marketing. If you would like,
you can search for video tutorials about how to set up a my
space page and start there. Then go to My Space and set up
your account. Take your time, no need to rush, learn all you can
about it.

Give yourself a deadline on this one Internet Marketing challenge.
Two days for instance to absorb everything you are learning.
Once you are satisfied with your knowledge, move on to the next
item on your "Internet Marketing challenges list" and continue the
same way.

1. Make a list of all your Inernet Marketing challenges.

2. Learn all you can about it.

3. Set a deadline for yourself.

4. Once mastered, move on to the next item.

Follow the steps, make your own that work for you, and lastly get excited about mastering your Internet Marketing challenges once and for all.

Great post Lori. I agree 100%....master two or three methods before burying yourself in 20 different ways. Patience is a virtue.

Yeah I suppose this is the most efficient way. But may not be the only. Not sure yet on this one. I guess I'd add to that: Test, Track, Tweak, Repeat. Kaizen/CANI.

I agree,Lori. That's what I try to do. I concentrate on one area, whether it's posting to Squidoo or writing articles. When I finish with one are, then I move on to the next. Once the schedule is set up the first time, it's alot easier to follow up.
