What is the Superior Method of Traffic?

Standing outside of McDonalds with a sign that has your site's URL on it.

There is no single best method. You should be using a mixture of methods to get traffic to your site. A better question would be "What is your favorite traffic generation method?" or even "What traffic generation method has given you the best results?".

The only absolute in IM is that if you don't take action you won't make any money.

For me it's traffic from my e-mail lists. However, the best source of traffic is the one that makes YOU the most money. You should never rely on a single source of traffic.

Yes, ONE is the worse number in business because if something
happens to that one, whether its a source of traffic, or a supplier,
you're out of business!

I agree that there is not best method, but my favorite method is
to have others generate the traffic for me... as in JV's, affiliate
promotions, etc.

forgot to add one. PRESS RELEASES. Done properly this can not only bring in a swarm of subscribers (which is golden i might add) but generating intrest in your product or website is FUN, and once you get good at it, the sales come in very easy!, and your enquiry rate will go up dramatically as well.

You forgot to add "blogging" to your poll list. This can turn into a superior method of traffic if you post often, participate on comments people leave on your blog, and if you market your blog in the right way... along with your blog's RSS feed.

Assuming you don't have any affiliates or JV's such as Willie (which
of course is the best the BEST traffic when you have other people
giving it to you) I would say if you don't want to fart around writing
articles and blogging and want to get straight to high quality I would
say ppc.

If you don't want to lose your shirt I would suggest Cost per click brokerages.
If your in the IM/MMO CPC broker is a very potent traffic source. It's pricey
but if you're looking to fill your list with high quality cold traffic this is a great source.

It definitely beats paying 40 cents a click for these solo ad vendors freebie seeker lists.

Hey @Willie: Great suggestion on another post regarding sending freebie seekers/prospects
to sign up to a free webinar as opposed to a traditional oto after they optin.

Best way to convert freebie seekers by far is definitely webinars in my opinion.

You seem to be obsessed with traffic questions?
Like others have said there is no real "best", some people
have found paid works best for them, others like SEO etc.
You have to find what works best for you, and you wont do that
by asking the same questions over and over...

paid traffic is fastest and easiest but not always best.
I use formu signature files for optins on different forums in different niches not only related to the IM niche.

I use successfully PPV daily.For products offers, CPA, etc

There are way too many variables in the online ecommerce world to tout any one single method as "superior".

The superior method of traffic is the one that gets you the best ROI after extensive testing and tweaking your conversions for one specific variation of your marketing funnel. It will vary from market to market, distribution channels, demographics, price points, marketing funnels, complete front-end and back-end strategies, etc.

i'm using some way

i built a yahoo group that it has about 12000 email and i can send from it 2000-3500 visitor in a day to my sites

+3000 a days

and from search engines or seoing +7000

in my idea best way is working on seo for getting best result but the fastest way is popup from semi high and high traffic sites

Tell us what superior means to you.

Do you need quality or quantity? Do you need it fast but for a short period of time or a little slower but steady over a longer period?

Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. Mixing them would be the best thing to do, in my opinion.

For me personally, it is my email list and SEO. I actually try to compete my email list traffic with Google traffic (within reason) and that has worked for me. I don't know if these are the highest converting forms of traffic for every niche, but they are the two most important traffic methods I focus on with social media in 3rd.

Solo ads work well but they cost money and YouTube can be very effective if you are good at making and promoting videos.

SEO was and still is the superior method online traffic. Just ask yourself or do some study that which online medium receive traffic as much as Google, you wouldn't find anything that even stand close to Google.

(I stick to Google, because it shares more than 70% of the online search market)

Count Google's traffic for any single day and compare the data with any other online medium, then you'd get a clear picture.

Of course, SEO, it is still superior method for me to generated targeted traffic.. I do get traffic from social media sites more than SE, but they don't convert good, so I would focus on SE traffic mainly.
