Opt-In and Order Now Button on Same Page - A Complete No-No?

I've recently read somehwere that having an opt-in (for a freebie) and an ORDER NOW button the same page is a no-no... because it causes a sort of confusing split course for the prospect.

Does anyone else agree with this?

I really want to offer a freebie for an opt in -- but -- what about the buy it NOW kind of person? Its hard to decide what to do..

Test test test, I guess.

    You answered your own question.

There are too many variables to give a blanket, all-or-nothing answer.

If I remember right, Alex Mandossian uses both on the sales page for his postcard marketing course. 'If you want to buy now, here's the button. If you aren't sure yet, fill in the form and get the first three chapters, free."

Seems to work out alright for him.

But like you said, test it. It all comes down to your offer, your market and your execution...

I've seen good and bad conversions from both, in different niches.....

It really does come down to testing for your particular niche.

For my websites, I used to have them both on the page but found when I separated them I did noticeably better. May depend on your niche tho...

He's right... it seems a ton of people do not realize how cookies work and that they will still get their commission even if someone buys from a link in an email that is not a hoplink. they will also get commissions for any upsells and backend offers if they are CB products all linked to the same vendor account.

Its weird that, because I look for the opposite... Before I promote anything I want to see they have the whole process map nailed down, upsells, downsells, followup, lead capture

Nothing makes me smile more than commission checks coming weeks or months after I stopped promoting something because the site owner understands marketing, and captured leads and followed up with them in an autoresponder series.

      Takes all sorts Jason
