.htaccess redirect, spun redirect?

I'm not sure what this implementation is called, basically when using .htaccess redirects I wish do chop and change the affiliate links automatically as per each clik/impression.

If I knew what it was aclled, I could proabably action it, but until then I'm stuck. Thanks.
#htaccess #redirect #spun

You mean you want the redirect url to change after each click using htaccess?

    Not sure I follow.

      Say there are two contributors..

      Affiliate A

      and

      Affiliate B

I would like to use .htaccess to create a redirect that equally provides the visitors with a url from each affiliate 50/50.

OHHHH. I am not sure htaccess can do that. I think you need a php script

You would use htaccess to route the request to a script which would handle the 50/50 split.

did you ever found a solution to this...

I kinda have the same problem.

Have a wordpress blog and I want to direct 50% of my visitors to mydomain/test1 and the rest to mydomain/test2

I was thinking of using the htaccess file to do the redirect. Anyone know how?

I'm actually going more technical with this one and now want to use it to rotate ad's also.

Yes, you would need to write a small php script that would do this. Probably one that updates a value in the database relating to an affiliate etc. This would basically create a circular effect and would therefore rotate ads / redirects with each click / update.

Hmmm. that wasn't very clear was it.
