What are the most effective ways to get traffic on a hair related niche?
I am fine for reccomendation of both free and paid traffic...

    If you have your own product then you can try adwords and for free traffic you can use related forums.
    You can also use facebook and if you are expert in your niche you will better know the suitable audience for you than me.

      Take time to visit hair forums...there are plenty of them. There are ones for hair removal, hair growth etc.

      Read, read and read some more thru these forums. If you are addressing a problem with your site, you will better understand the angst that some are experiencing from say losing their hair or having excess body hair.

      Then address these concerns on your site and in your social media to help with traffic.

    Google AdWord is good if you are branding as it will get you the most amount of QUALITY and targetted exposure in relatively short time. You can save on click cost by targetting the display network only; that is, advertising on AdSense.

    I'll always take paid traffic over free traffic, you get what you paid for. Not everyone will agree but it's true. Another thing I'd recommend is looking at the popular forums of your niche, they often offer advertising opportunities and you are essentially offering on the spot, that people are interested in. You can also advertise on Amazon (as an advertiser, not necessarily as a seller!!). Another good one is facebook, they allow you either PPC or CPM whatever you prefer.

    There's tons of way to advertise, just remember that not all traffic is equal. Targetting, ad copy and your offer are what will make or break your campaign.

    If you niche deals with hair growth/hair fall problems, it is best if you make way for the users to get to you, instead of you looking for the users. It is because it is one of the biggest health/beauty problems, and when people have a problem, they spent time, effort and money to resolve it.

    So my advice is to SEO your site. That way those looking for a solution to their problem will find your site through the right keywords. This is an advantage of organic traffic; the conversion rate should be high. I think this is better than paid methods because if you really want something, you wouldn't check for it in the ads of every page, but you would search for it yourself.

    Google around to look for beauty and fashion communities, and get properly involved in them! Give useful and practical advice, hang out with the bloggers and give them stuff, etc.

    You want to discover where the "hair communities" are, and then contribute enough that they start being curious about what you're up to.
