I only submitted 2 articles so far and I have been granted expert status, I would have thought it took more?

They just want to make people feel special and submit more. Just my opinion

    Hey Matt,

I've been working hard to write articles and submit them to EA to get to Platinum status. Just got it a few weeks ago. Everyone starts out as an Expert in the basic level, then you move up from there after showing the staff that you write quality articles without any issues - ie, abusing the guidelines.

You should definitely check out the guidelines as you do not want to accidently include a link you are not supposed to, include too many keywords, etc.

As for the different levels, this is straight from their website:

There are three levels of membership at EzineArticles.com - Basic, Basic Plus & Platinum.

All new members start at the Basic level with 10 initial article submission credits. Once these initial 10 have been submitted, our staff will then review the account for possible upgrade to Basic Plus or Platinum Level. The decision to upgrade is based primarily on whether or not the initial 10 articles submitted have adhered to our Editorial Guidelines and the general content of the articles.

Basic PLUS membership level is given to authors whose initial articles have not consistently adhered to our Editorial Guidelines but the articles still have good quality content. This membership level allows for an additional 25 more submissions. Once these 25 submissions have been used, we will review the account for further upgrade.

Platinum Status allows for unlimited article submission. This membership level is given to Basic members whose initial 10 articles have adhered to our Editorial Guidelines and to Basic PLUS members whose 25 additional submissions have kept to those guidelines.

The best way to reach Platinum level right away is to review our Editorial Guidelines BEFORE you start submitting articles and then adhere to them with your articles."

    Hope that helped.

    Fabio

Ezine is the best directory that can help you to get the quality backlinks on your site.. Getting the expert author Bio has seen often and it happen when you got approved at least 3 to 4 of your articles..

    Thanks

    I was really pleased with my expert author status, until I read this page. It was my 12th article approval that gave me expert status, while you guys all seem to have achieved it by your 3rd article.;{

While I've made a lot of mistakes, I don't think I'm doing anything spammy as I'm writing general stuff, and then only placing my links in the author box.

I'm sure that EZA only awards expert author status to you for putting out a high quality article. This seems to be on a per article basis. It is like a quality score for your article submission.

Not sure how it works at all but I was platinum pretty quick. Maybe it's my niche, or maybe I am just a wonderful writer. I have no clue. I just thought Wow, stroke my ego. I am good with that.

A person is granted an "expert" status even he/she submits only one article and this article gets approved eventually for publishing in EZA..

This is one of their marketing strategies to encourage you to write more. Lets you feel special also.

That's nothing, i've been granted Platinum-Gold, Successful Expert guy status or something like that. Funny, i looked at the pricing structure and the benefits really do not outweigh the price. I'll stay with the above status until i get bumped up again.
