Youtube copyrights biased.

Hello. I just uploaded song on youtube and within second it was blocked. I had given credit to the original singer but still they blocked it. I had seen many videos of same album which is live and they put the original song without making any changes. I think youtube is biased on their policy. Cheers.

    GOTCHA! Did you even ask permission to the owner of that singer via email or chat? Even if you give credit to that singer without asking full permission, you still violated the copyrights, and Youtube are against copyright infringers. Of course, for the other ones that uploaded the copyrighted videos that they do not own (unless they set their videos to Creative Commons feature), they might get blocked too, and they won't last long.

    I got arrested for selling crack, others are still selling it. The police must be biased.

    Yup, but these one sided stories rarely get to the crux of the actual issue though.

    I also believe, as the number one rule of this forum says, if you have a problem with someone, you should take it up with them.

    I'd hope so: how would you feel about that, if the roles were reversed and you yourself owned the copyright while someone else was doing that?!

      I am not selling anything and also just want to share music with other youtube members, so it only help the musician to promote his/her album. Cheers.

        Yes you're infringing the copyright of the performers,
        songwriter and publisher by putting up their
        song on youtube.

        Performance royalties are often the major part of what
        an artist gets paid when they have a hit song (royalties
        from radio stations, websites etc) and they don't get that
        when you put a video up although they are legally
        entitled to it.

        Youtube will take videos down at the request of the artist
        or the publisher of the song.

        You should simply ask the singer for permission.

        Usually they're easy to find and contact (most have
        a facebook page).

        Then you can put the singer's permission in writing
        in the description of the youtube video.

        Yes, by so-call sharing someone's hard copyrighted work for free, you have taken it upon yourself to diminish the artist's right to sell his or her songs. Are we connecting yet? Can't you see that's a real problem?

        I'm sure the musicians are completely capable of promoting their own music. They probably hire people to do that for them. You can't "share" what you don't have rights to share. Simple as that.

        So if you owned the copyright, and someone else did that with your copyright material, are you saying that you'd be pleased about it? I think that would be a rather unusual reaction to a flagrant breach of someone's copyright, really, don't you?! Surely you can see that it's for the copyright owner to decide whether or not it's submitted to YouTube, not for someone else with whom s/he has no connection? Otherwise where are the "rights" in "copyrights"?!

    Some artists have content IDs for YouTube

    Others do not and just blocked Youtube from having their content

    It's all about the controlling party.

    LMAO, how is Youtube Bias, just because they blocked a video you had no business uploading

    You have to pay to use someones music, a simple credit to the singer will not do, that is a big Youtube urban myth lol

    Usually if nobody made a complaint against your video, it will not taken off, I think someone has claim copyright that's why your video is deleted.
