What happened to my Google Analytics? From 2000 visitors/month to 0.

Hello,

I have a website that was pulling in 2000 visitors monthly and my Google Analytics just stopped. I'm not sure if I accidentally changed some sort of code that sends my data to Google Analytics or not. I still see my Adsense page view counter still working properly. I just don't know what I did to my Analytics. Can someone help please?

Thank you so much for your help in advance.

I would go into your Analytics account and re-copy the code back over to your website.

yeah without seeing your site it's impossible to say, but it sounds like the code just got messed up or something. I'd head over to Google Analytics and re-copy the code and paste it back into your site...

Don't panic friend, just go to your site and check the code. If you just installed a new plugin it could be interfering with the Tracking Code.

Also where was the traffic coming from?

It may be that Google analytics is dead just as the claims of almost everything else being dead.

      A quick word!

Do as others have mentioned, and re apply the Analytics code...(just by doing this you should be up and running again...

      A few tips...

When you add your Google Analytics code, if you place the code in either your header or your footer, there can be a difference as to how it works(tracks data).

Also, there can be a difference if you are using the old google analytics code, or the new asynchronous tracking code....

Another thing is, that if you make (code edits, etc) changes to your site via your WordPress cpanel files and also via your Hosting Cpanel file manager, there is a chance of botching up or deleting the Analytics code..

      Good luck!

I'm not sure if it worked or not but I recoppied the snipit of code from google anayltics and pasted it right before the </head> in the "header" section. I refresh google and it still says "Tracking Not Installed". Does it take a bit for it to refresh? Or did I do something wrong?

I do appreciate the help everyone.

Maybe you accidentally edited the code when you were editing something else? I've done it before it's not fun at all. Editing stuff is not fun either.

Try statcounter if these suggestions don't work and see if you can see your traffic again then you will know it's google.

It seems to be counting now but it still shows on my Analytics page "Tracking Not Installed". Hmmm... Any thoughts?
