A question about guest blogging

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing well.

I have a question that I was pondering. I know there are differing opinions on duplicate content versus syndicated content. So now that penguin 2.0 is out, would it be better to send only one unique high quality article to another blog that accepts guest blogs?

Or could I take that same high quality article and send it to multiple webmasters to see if they would publish it?

And going a step further, could/should I publish that article on my site first, so it gets indexed, and then send a copy of that article to other webmasters?

I know a lot of webmasters are always looking for content, but what are the rules now days?

I don't know about your first question - I guess that's depend on every webmaster and his preferences, but for this question the answer is definitely "YES". You actually must do that, so Google won't "think" YOU have the duplicate content

If you send an article to more than one webmaster then make it clear you are offering SYNDICATED content and not an original piece. If you are offering the content to multiple blog owners then publish on your site first.

However, that is not the definition of guest blogging. A guest blogger creates an original piece for the blogger who give them links back to their site. It is more about relationship building and less about getting multiple pieces of the same content spread around the web.

my question here is, how Google will identify whether its a guest post or paid post?

A guest post always mentions on the article that - "this is a guest post, written by - - -"

and to answer the original question, if you have duplicate content on your blog, no matter who posts first, your ranking will be effected... you will be penalized for duplicate content.

If you offer duplicate/syndicated content to other bloggers/webmasters - they will reject it, or perhaps post it and the later understand that they had been cheated with duplicate content and delete the post and ban you!

Duplicate content does not helps - if you do this, it will be like article submissions and article marketing is almost useless these days...

        This is completely wrong.

All you'd need to do, to see how wrong it is, it to take a look at Google's WebMaster Central Blog. But maybe when you see the words "Duplicate content doesn’t cause your site to be penalized" you decide that you subscribe to the "Google is lying to us" conspiracy theory? It makes no sense to me at all, but I know there are still some people who genuinely believe that (or they claim they do, when they're on the spot in public and it's the only "explanation" they can come up with for their bizarre beliefs!).

This is also completely wrong (very fortunately for me and large numbers of others here)!

Every single guest post I've ever done on anyone else's blog, over the last 4 years, in each of 8 different niches, has been syndicated content.

Hundreds of thousands of people accept and welcome and invite and publish it.

Anyone willing to look for themselves rather than repeating all this nonsense can easily see that for themselves.

This is just ridiculous. People are syndicating content from "Ezine Articles" every day of the week, for heaven's sake. That's what article directories are there for. That's their purpose. Don't try and tell me that those people don't want syndicated content on their blogs. They're openly syndicating it themselves! What you're saying is pure fiction, and anyone who can read and think can see that for themselves. The baffling thing is how you came to believe something so obviously untrue, in the first place?!

These days, since you mention it, more and more people are becoming successful with article marketing. Their posts are all over this forum. And others. There should be a health warning on your content, though, because anyone who can read and think can see for themselves that it's pure fiction.

In fact, you're talking with all the insight, perception and accuracy of someone with "guest blogging" in his signature-file, who's trying to promote something without giving a damn what he has to say about the subject in order to do so.
