Does anyone using this software get an error that includes "NilObjectException was not handled... must shut down"

I am posting this here because the support for this product is in a different galaxy at the moment.

  • that's a run time linking error, isn't it? Corrupt installation?

    • Hmmm... used it last week, no prob. Maybe I will reinstall anyhow.
  • Yes, I have the same problem. Tried posting it on the support forum & had one reply (from another user & not Sebastian) suggesting I run it as the administrator but had already done that & it didn't work.

It worked ok when I first purchased it, but has been bringing up that error ever since no matter what computer (laptop or desktop) I use it on or how many times I install/uninstall/run as administrator. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with Vista as I never had a problem with it on my old XP computer..only on my new computer & laptop which both run Vista.

Whatever the problem, it's rather disappointing as what was once a great piece of software is now almost useless & no one seems to know (or care) about how to fix it.

    Cheers

  • I have used PAW for a while but I've just tried it and it's working fine for me.

Marty which O/S are you using it on? I'm using XP which might, as Rachel says, be the reason it's OK on my machine.

    • Mine is a Vista machine, the thing is - it worked for me when I installed. I actually did several different article jobs with it and no problem. Now can't really do a thing with it.
  • sounds like a vista incompatibility.

    • @Rachel - if you are still having the same problem, Sebastian did actually respond to me, (albeit slowly) but said to run the software as administrator. I then decided to purchase PAR and it is working fine now.
  • I just tried to use it and my anti-virus said it's infected! I just used it Friday with no trouble. I deleted the shortcut and downloaded it again, but it's got a virus. I may have to delete the thing permanently. I sent Sebastian an email and hopefully I can get another copy, upgrade or something.

He has that problem with his forums as well. They get hacked and whacked with porn and all kinds of little nasty stuff.

Man, that's really going to suck if I can't get this sorted out.
