Mobile Internet? Any Recommendations?

Hi Guys,

I am starting to travela fair
bit throughout Australia doing
Seminars and workshops.

Can anyone here recommend a good
mobile internet supplier here in Australia.

I am getting really sick of the crappy
internet connections and gooey keyboards
that I am using at motels and internet cafes.

Take Care,

Michael Silvester

    Michael,
The best for reception wise and reliability is Telstra's Next-G, but alas also the most costly

3 is not bad coverage wise provided you stay in the major city centers. Only thing you have to watch out with 3 is that, when you are out of their network coverage, they revert automatically to Telstra's network (often without you knowing) and you'll get a hefty surprise bill at the end, so caveat emptor.

If you are in major cities, I'll go with Vodafone or Optus, best value for money.....
BTW, Michael if you have your laptop with you, Maccas have got free WiFi, good and reasonably fast (I should know - I'm a road warrior at their joints about twice a week...)

    HTH, Tim

PS. Bev, when r u arriving and which cities will u b at? PM me....

    COOL....
Well if you are in my part of town, holler.... I'm on the eastern seaboard on the Gold Coast. Love to catch up with ya. I was based in HK from '88 to '91. Still miss the sites and smells of the place!

Do NOT -- repeat do NOT -- use VirginBroadband!

The single worst service I have EVER paid money for. And customer service... don't even get me started. Sheesh!

Good recommendations and details from astaga, above.

Oh, and re: Wi-Fi in public hotspots... better research "sidejacking" and get yourself the necessary security measures installed. After all, this is your biz right?

    Best of luck,
