Write Articles Fast... Why Would You Want To?

Every now and again I see a thread where someone is either asking about how to write articles faster or trying to tell someone else how to do it, so I had to post this. Sure, there are ways, but do you really want to?

Yes, more content is better, generally speaking, but do you really think that an article that you cranked out in less than 20 minutes is going to perform as well as a piece that actually took you some time to think about, research, structure and write? Do you think that you’ll be able to put your best work forth within that time frame? Do you think that the article will provide a lot of value to the reader? Probably not.

And you better believe that that’s what it’s all about, these days – VALUE. There’s a million writers/IMers/webmasters just like you, and their thoughts, experiences and ambitions are often very similar. In other words, there’s a lot of competition out there, so you’ll need to put some passion into your material if you want to stand out and achieve your objective – assuming that you have one that is feasible and legal.

People don’t want to read something that they’ve just read somewhere else. They don’t want to click on a catchy title and then find that the content doesn’t deliver. What they want is content that is unique, informative, helpful, exciting, entertaining, engaging, purposeful and satisfying; something that actually makes a difference in their life, even if only for a brief moment.

Putting out a half-assed piece, or many, is just going to hurt you in the long run.

Don’t get me wrong. I realize that time is money and money is precious, and that a good deal of us don’t have a whole lot of either. I also know that certain business models, industries and situations require that you type with your fingers and your toes. But in general, why waste your time and everybody else’s by spitting out articles like a Kalashnikov? Rather take a few hours and produce something that produces.

News flash: A good article can be worth a thousand crappy ones, regardless of what it’s for. And guess what… you can sell it to your clients for a whole lot more! The sense of pride that comes when you deliver awesome work is also worth a mention.

I guess what I’m saying is this: WRITE LESS, BUT MAKE IT MEAN MORE. Write epic shi*, as they say…

I agree with almost every thing you said. Where I disagree is your last line...

Write epic shi*, as they say...
Simply because in the world of quality, compelling and engaging writing, "epic" and "sh*t" don't belong in the same sentence.

I don't know who "they" are, but if they're saying that, maybe you shouldn't listen to them. There is "epic" writing and writing that is "sh*t" but not "epic sh*t".

    Time is money.

If you spent 5 minutes creating that post or you could have done it in 1 minute... which would you prefer?

Which one in the long run would make you more efficient and more money? An article you spent 2 hours creating or an article you spent 10 minutes masterfully piecing together like a work of art?

Speed doesn't cause car accidents, bad driving does.

      Baiting the witness!

It's obvious you want the reader to side with you, lol!

For me, I 'd prefer to masterfully create a work of art, using the finest of mediums, making each detail as realistic as possible to take my viewer through a process that draws them in, astounds them, compelling them to be in awe of my art and willing to go out and encourage others to come and experience it.

This simply couldn't be done in 10 minutes, which brings me to my next question. From where do I get the pieces to masterfully craft together? That gathering would take some more time, more time than a mere 10 minutes, would it not? You aren't an artist are you, lol!

      Next,

Speed can and indeed does cause accidents. You're driving through a 35 mile per hour school zone doing 50 miles per hour when a child steps out onto the street. Sorry, you're going too fast to stop in time and you'll hit them. That wasn't because of bad driving, but due to speed. Then again, speeding is bad driving anyway.

You're questioning the fulfillment, not the demand. I think the question is, "why offer such a gig in the first place;" not "why do working writers fulfill paying orders."

I think the answers you're looking for are "convenience" and "economy." These factors will continue to attract and for a good reason. A better question is, how do you get high quality results from a low investment? Answer that and you've got yourself an enterprise.

When you hate sitting there and writing like I do. If you can't take the time to provide value and quality like you said, you are better of outsourcing it to someone who can
