Traffic exchange advertising advice

Hey guys,

I am promoting a product that is laser targeted to traffic exchanges. Over the past two days I have sent over 300 unique hits to various squeeze pages and not one single opt-in.

Are traffic exchanges even worth it? or do I need a lot more hits to even expect an opt-in to my list?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Traffic exchanges are full of bots and people looking to hurry and click through onto the next ad in hopes that someone else (ie.. YOU) will sign up for their ad.

The conversion rates are super low, because no one there is looking to sign up or read what's in front of them.. they're only looking to click through to the next one, while allowing their bot to do the clicking.. or doing something in another tab. The traffic quality is super low.

but most traffic exchanges offer a paid option, some of which can get you a few optins.

Ultimately traffic exchanges aren't a great way to drive traffic, but if you can afford to buy the higher volume packages and optimize a system to convert them... its rumored to work for some people!

In my opinion there are much better ways to build a list than focusing on such a low quality traffic source.

Thanks for the reply! I now have over 600 uniques and no opt-ins. With all the people surfing these exchanges every day, they must be good for something or they wouldn't exist. Are all these people just wasting their time?

The problem I have with that is sense this is a product that teaches you to market on traffic exchanges and build a list and commissions. Can it be marketed in other places effectively? I would have thought that the traffic exchanges would have been the best place sense its so laser targeted to them.

This is one of those conversations where some people say it works for them and others say it does not. Like the adfly debate that's floating around the forum from time to time
