best way to market a new ecommerce website

I am a newbie to ecommerce.
I am planning to starting my very 1st online store. what is the best way to market it?
affiliate marketing, google adwords ..... where do i start. I dont have a whole lot of money, I really want to bootstrap it and i am not afraid to work really hard.

    I really shouldn't even say anything since the last ecommerce site I had was back in 1949, okay maybe not that long ago but its been awhile.

    Marketing a website though is website to website for the basics. Forums, Blogs, Facebook, youtube, twitter, squidoo, ect ect ect. Depending on the product clickbank. If its a physical product then kolimbo and commission junction and those guys.

    Since you don't have a 'whole lot of money,' try FREE traffic instead. If you can build a link on a site, you can pull traffic from it. Here is a list of guides on how to get free traffic from social media and video sites.

    You can start marketing with the methods as follows:
    1. SEO: make detailed search engine optimization plan for your site, including internal optimization and link building, you can get some tips on the blog of
    2.Guest posting
    3.Forum posting
    4.Social media marketing: facebook, twitter, etc. As you are going to sell fashion jewelry, Pinterest will be very useful for you.

      Submitting an articles and writing free e-reports are powerful traffic-boosters. Additional benefit: Google loves ezines.

        The typical traditional traffic methods for any niche still work in e-commerce. Video Marketing, Social Media, Guest Blogging, SEO.

        Make sure your product pages are optimised for the names of the products - particularly if you're selling branded stuff.

        If this is your own brand - try to get some popular people, or at least semi popular people, to wear it. If you can get them to tweet it, even better.

        Get listed in Google Base so your products appear in the Google shopping listings.

        Consider an ebay store because ebay already has traffic.

          Try writing simple preselling articles with a lot of useful information on the product niches/categories you want to promote, then either posting them on blogs or submitting them to article directories with links pointing back to your site or specific pages on it.

          Be careful though since some directories have strict policies about the the articles (for example, in some cases you'll only be able to place links in the resource boxes).
