I use 123rf.com for most of mine. There are plenty of free images and their pricing is really cheap for stock photos you can use. Here is a link to their free section:

Free Royalty Free Photos, Pictures, Images And Stock Photography

I look forward to seeing other ones

Sxc.hu is my go-to place for free photos.

I just discovered that BigStockPhoto.com has a free 7-day trial where you can download up to 5 photos per day. Most of their stock photos are high quality professional images.

Google Images are not free to use. Some may be, but you can not legally swipe any image you find on Google Images.

However, there is a fairly easy way around this:

          1. Search on Google Images for your topic.
          2. Click on "Options" (the little gear wheel in the top, right-hand corner of the results page).
          3. Choose "Advanced Search".
          4. From the "usage rights" drop box, choose a license that allows you to LEGALLY use images.
          5. Click the blue button, "Advanced Search".

While the results are usually safe to use, do your due diligence and actually check that you can an image legally, and what the conditions, if any, are.

Never use any image you come across, unless you like prison food.

Always be certain you have the legal right to use an image before you use it.

          John.

I agree! After, you filter your results...In my opinion, the images are not, all that great.

You're right - they're usually not all that great, but they're much more likely to keep you out of trouble.

The best images are nearly always the ones you have to pay for. That's life!

    Good day/evening.

If you are looking for royalty free images you should google for 'public domain' images related to your query. When something is in the public domain you can copy, modify, distribute and perform the work, even for commercial purposes, all without asking permission. Content in the public domain have no copyrights, the copyrights have either expired or been forfeited.

You can also search google for free image websites, etc. It takes a bit of browsing, but you should find a few sites worth your while. There are also many stock image sites with free trials, or daily download limits.

One of my favorite sites: all-free-download.com

Always look for license information when downloading files you plan to use publicly. Verify that it is indeed free to use or adapt, without infringing copyright.

I sincerely hope this reply was helpful.

Try creativecommons.org. You can choose to search for images and then you can search for properly licensed images on Google, Wikimedia Commons, Flickr, etc (one at a time) from there.

Just buy a ton of credits from istock.com (or one of the stock sites.) It's totally worth paying, especially for the amount of time you cut out trying to save money.

    Time is money, right?

If you're using the pics for sales letters, you want the best available.

To those confused, royalty free doesn't have to mean free images. It just means images where you buy the rights to use them without having to pay royalties.

I use and recommend this site:
High Quality Royalty-Free Stock Photography From $1 - Stock Photo | PhotoDune

I would be very careful if you are using any free image sites. To me it's just not worth the risk.
