How to best earn money and benefit others?

I'm talking about online social entrepreneurship. What are the best ways to earn money, while at the same time genuine and authentically helping others in ways that enrich their lives in long term and sustainable ways?

You could consider selling things on consignment. This way the people you help can make money by getting their items sold, and you make money from a cut of the sale. Win-Win

If you're looking to help people, consider philanthropy.

Dude...you need money for that. :p

OP - Just offer a great product or service and you can help your customers and use any left over profits to save the world.

I mean, they don't necessarily need to be connected. You can sell handguns and heroin and then donate 100% of your profits to some charity if helping others is what's important to you... you don't need a business that itself helps others.

Benefit others, and then you'll make money.

Figure out what people need, and give it to them.

    Here's the trick though.

You need a method to contact them that's economically feasible, and a good method to deliver your solution.

The best way to earn money and benefit others...is to offer opportunities to earn commissions plus residual income...at no coast to join, like I do!

I disagree.. You can rehash a crappy product and offer %100 commission to affiliates but offer "no value" to your customers therefore ruin your reputation.. Have the best of both.. Yes affiliates will bring you sales and build your list, but with "value" and "trust" those buyers will become clients and buy anything you produce.. you want to help both the customer and the affiliate...

A blog or your list can help you achieve that. You provide them great free content that helps them, and you point them to products (with your affiliate link of course), when you think that particular product can honestly improve their life in some way. That is 'making money while helping others' in my book.

Also, selling a correctly priced product that really helps people in a particular niche also falls under the same category, doesn't it?

In a free market, it's IMPOSSIBLE to make money WITHOUT helping people.

The basic premise of all free trade is that both parties are BETTER OFF after the transaction.

Doesn't matter if you're selling shoes, hamburgers, or automatic link building machines. Whenever somebody buys something, they buy it because they want the thing they are buying MORE THAN they want the money that it costs.

Therefore, so long as you are making money by selling things that people are voluntarily buying, it's the best, most efficient way possible to help people.

you want to help even MORE people? Figure out a way to make even MORE money!

If you are honest you will make money because you will help those who will trust you and your products or services, what will help you have repeat customers and also get new customers thanks to word of mouth.

You only have to be honest and really help those who will pay you for some reason. Your customers will be happy with their decision, and buy a lot more from you.

There was a great answer to a question on Quora:

Life: I'm 16. And I want to serve humanity, but where to start?

The current best answer would be to work in cutting-edge technologies. If you create the next Facebook or iPhone, you're going to be both wealthy and helping lots of people just by empowering them. (Bear in mind that what's going to be cutting-edge in 3 or 4 years might be completely different from what's cutting-edge now!)

I also suggest reading Paul Graham's essay How To Make Wealth.

It's important I think to not fall into the trap of thinking that there's a single best way of doing this, independent of who you are. You have to get to know yourself a lot better, and figure out what you might be able to motivate yourself to spend years of your life working on.

It doesn't cost more to start a non-profit than it does to incorporate a for profit business, so it doesn't really "cost money" to start being a philanthropist if helping people is your real goal. By law a nonprofit is only required to give away 30% or more to it's cause, so it can be and is very profitable for many nonprofit owners.

That's why you should always look into the nonprofits you give to. The Goodwill owner, for example, has a multi million dollar monthly income by convincing us to donate ALL his inventory! If that ain't genius.....

But if you're looking for product ideas.. A good ebook really isn't "enough". You gotta connect and talk with people 1 on 1 to help them the most. Providing a way for people to connect with you & others is much better than 12 pages of a good idea that may or not be the answer they were looking for... 2 cents !!

If your trying to "help" others/customers/clients/prospects.. than you have to provide a "solution" to there problems.. With affiliates? High commissions.. [my opinion]

Totally agree with James Clark. If your products/services always go above and beyond then by default you are helping people. They need or want the product/service, and you are delivering a better than excellent version. My local coffee shop does the best coffee ever - they are helping me!
