Selling On Amazon - Delivery Cost?

Hi,

I am trying to list an item on Amazon however it insists on adding a £22.95 delivery fee.

It says this fee will be credited back to me but I am finding it quite bizarre. Can anyone advise what this delivery fee is as it is adding it to my selling fee but I dont want it to.

Is anyone familiar with selling on Amazon?

    Yes. That's how it works.

Amazon has its own shipping fee table that it charges shoppers. You do not control the amount of these fees. The fees are passed on to you since you have to ship the item.

Amazon also keeps a percentage of the product price. The percentage depends on what category the product is listed in, and ranges from 7% to 15%.

    Pricing: http://services.amazon.co.uk/service...g.html#details

    Shipping rate table: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/cust...nodeId=3149301

It's based on the weight of the product.

    justlukeyou,

Looks like you're not from US.
If you have it available in your country, open an FBA account
to take care of high shipping cost.

    Thanks.

I am very surprised by this.

    1. I have an RRP to meet and I'm not sure if the dropshipper counts delivery cost towards the RRP

    2. The delivery cost might physchologically put some people off

How much is the FBA. I'm trying to start off small with no overheads.

Why Don't you look for Ebay.com where you can allow to put your own shipping costs or if you like you can deliver it for free. Just have a look

But surely, if amazon wont be the one to ship the product and you do all of the shipping yourself, you don't possibly have to use amazon's rate, right?

"you don't possibly have to use amazon's rate, right?"

Amazon sets the shipping rates - the seller has no say-so over what they will be.

    Hi,

But doesn't Amazon pay the shipping cost back to me. Thats what it seems to suggest.

Also another selling is the same item with free delivery but are still selling the item for more than what I am.

Yes you get the shipping fees. So if Amazon sets shipping at 3.99 you would get 3.99 in addition to the money you make when you sell the item - less Amazon fees.

You will set the price you sell for. Amazon will charge buyers the price you set PLUS the shipping fee. Amazon will then send you the amount they charged MINUS their fees.

Just consider the total cost with the shipping fee. You could upgrade your seller account to set your own shipping.
