Well, that's my two-pence worth anyway. Be interesting to see what others consider to be the secret to successful online marketing in a short sentence or two (no essays!).

            James Clark there is nothing magical with online success, and you shouldn't depend on luck . If you should, I bet you are going to loose lot of money. :confused:

              Actually, I don't depend on luck per sey. But I believe the 80/20 rule applies to everything in life including Internet Marketing.

              I agree with you but not in the order that you have listed above. In life I don't believe that I'm special except I just stumbled across some information that took me to the next level. Most people don't believe that.

              80 percent of it is information and knowledge, and 10 % is luck and 10 % is a little magic. If that makes me take action everyday, then so be it.

                  All the gymnastics exercises like PPC, Ad words, squeeze pages, etc I'm sure I missed some but you get the point. Those things are not a business but tools.

                  The business end is the subscribers. What you extraction from your subscribers is the business. In case you didn't know this it was subscribers money that build the Statue of Liberty.

                  Simple put, if you have 15,000 subscribers on your list and you sold 4,000 people on the list 75.00 worth of products. You multiply 4,000 x 75.00 =$300,000 do I need to say more?

    Unrelenting desire and belief deep within that you will succeed. It's about that "gun to my head" attitude that you will make it work, no other option.

    If you have that attitude you will eventually succeed because you'll have the drive and determination needed. Nobody gets rich from sitting on their ass thinking or learning about getting rich... they get rich by modeling and doing what other rich people do...

        Well you can believe anything that you want but All you have to do is ACT ON the ideas you get. If you get an idea for making chicken soup and you go to the movies when you get home there won't be any soup.

        Maybe you get an idea to start a Facebook Fan Page but do it, or maybe you get an idea to insert a link to a free report in your signature file, or maybe you can sell a report for $1 but do it and see what happens.

        Focus means to do something everyday. And then you think, “Hmmmfffff, maybe I should try that post thing I read about the other day.

        The problem I see with marketers is if they don't get fast results they give up on a idea. Block off 1 or 2 hours each day. Work on product creation 1 hour and marketing the additional hour.

        Those two things only.

        Keep in mind, you don't have to sit in front of the computer all day, especially if you have a job, wife and kids.

          You are right James.. Truly that is a common problem in IM and in life generally. That is why I always advice every newbie IM'ers to always have a professional mentor.. Not just a mentor that won't know you as a mentee, a mentor that will always act like your BOSS. A mentor that will make sure you stick to something that works that build the right mindset and patience to see it work for you.

          It is important to have a close relationship mentor if you want to succeed in internet marketing. It is very hard to figure things out, that is why you need a mentor to help you succeed.
