Working Smart...

Should I work smart and use the blog posts I make on forums as well...

OR

Should I keep the content I put up on my blog original and unique to my blog?

Will it effect my Google ranking if I choose the first option?

  • If you syndicate your content across multiple sites, google won't penalize you for it. They may even reward you for it.

    • Zak,

Some forums don't allow you to post previously published articles as forum posts.

I don't think there is anything wrong with posting snippets or short ideas from your articles to answer a question in a forum or to begin a thread in a forum as long as the snippet is relevant to the forum and the thread.

If you wrote the article that the snippet came from I think you will just reinforce what you are saying in your blog.

Google won't care that you do this; just remember to get your blog content indexed prior to posting the snippet in another place so that your blog will be seen as the original source.

      Good luck to you,

      Steve
  • So Victor, should I edit it in some way or keep it as is?

    EDIT: Thanks Steve
  • If you're just syndicating content, you don't have to change it at all. Just don't like an article about Eating Bugs to the same article about Eating Bugs... use them wisely to send visitors to other parts of your site where they then learn about 10 Methods to Cook Bugs or something similar.

If you're talking about reposting it on forums.. keep in mind what others have pointed out. Not all forums allow you to repost full articles you've posted some where else, like your own site or another forum.
