Have traffic, weight loss niche, fail to monetize it

Let me see your website and review if there is anything to improve. Your traffic rate is not bad. With the right list building technique and offer, you can make a good $1,000 per month minimum.

Btw, if you have that kind of traffic, don't monetize with adsense. Use Clickbank or sell ad space instead. You can charge around $30 per month for one banner ad on your page.

List building IS the way to go.

Your free offer has to be a good one though, something ANYONE looking to lose weight would be interested in and wonder what it is. Don't expect people to sign up for a product they need... they'll only sign up if you can make them WANT it.

After they're on your list, prepare an email sequence that goes ON & ON.. months or years. Teach with quality content, build an emotional connection in the beginning and promote affiliate offers along the way.

I just launched off a website that content locks free weight loss ebooks. I just got my first 5 visitors and made $2.70. That's something to look into.

you have to look at your stats and see where your visitors are coming from. this is a very important overlooked step.

even though your site is about weight loss the traffic could be something else. it could be an old domain with crappy backlinks that are not relevant, it could be a combo of random words ranking, it could be traffic from a country that doesnt buy stuff like this.

follow the trail, focus on how they got there... and you will find the money :-)

Hook-up with another blogger/website owner in your niche to promote each other's sites and offers. You're going to need a product though, whether it's a course, coaching, a book, meal plans, some kind of challenge/accountability event, or physical product. If you don't have the ability to create a product like that get someone in your niche to present a product or service of their own and you get commissions from that.

Before the Pandas and Penguins hit I managed to rank a very good, content-rich blog to #1 for the terms "lose weight" and "lose weight fast". It was a life-long dream of mine and YES I really managed to do it.

I got many thousands of uniques every single day.

Traffic more or less didn't convert AT ALL, the only thing which *halfway* worked was Adsense.

I sold the site and the new owner did a complete overhaul of the site and made really good reviews as well, CPA etc. but ALSO couldn't convert.

This new owner again sold the site, the other owner also didn't seem to be able to convert.

Mind you, this was while ranking TOP for mega keywords like "lose weight" and 1000s of visitors daily. Forget that niche, it's AWFUL. I wouldn't tell you this but we really tested everything, CPA offers, clickbank, banners etc..etc..

If anything, I *think* the only thing which COULD work in that niche is free giveaways/ebooks etc. and then hope that an occasional sale would come about from the free ebooks where you have some links in there - but even then I'd say there is a zillion niches which are better than the weight loss niche.

Use other methods, adsense won't... make you all that much.. Some, have 100s, maybe 1000s site with adsense and make decent ...doh.

If you get targeted, traffic possibly advertise CB products/aff products via banners. You say that, you are building a list, use that list to promote niche related offers, or your own stuff....

There are many things. When optimizing always do say a very small part. This can come down to a placement. It can come to a cpa product change.

Something also is what kind of traffic and where is it coming from. Yeah you said google but from where. What is the bounce rate of your website? Another words how long does a viewer stay on for. Something with a blog the longer the better.

Again the habbit of small things but over time can have a great effect!

Are all of your traffic from real visitors or are there bots as well?

Aside from that there are many options for monitzation. You can try CPL offers, sell ad space on your website, offer sponsored posts along with building your own email list. You should also test out different landing pages and see which one converts better, having 1 conversion out of 350 unique visitors is not great so try a different landing page and see how it does and start analyzing your sales funnel.
