How I get targeted traffic using Craigslist

Hello everyone,

I just thought I would share with you one of my ways of getting good targeted traffic to my site. If you are promoting something such as how to make money online or any type of thing that allows those who join to make money this is a good method to try out. I will go into the jobs section on Craigslist and create ads in the sales and marketing jobs and keep the ads really simple and make it sound like a real job position. Most of the time you will get a lot of replies to ad and many of them will include a copy of their resume for the job. With that resume you now have their name, address, and phone number. Once I get that I will create flyers or postcards promoting my website and actually send them in the mail to the address off of their resume. This way it probably seems more legit than just throwing a website to them online because this was mail personally sent to them. You also know they are good leads because they are obviously looking for a way to earn money. I get quite a few sign ups using this method and a lot of them that signed up have been making money using my program as well so it is a win win situation for me If you are interested in giving it a try it is a very cheap and effective method of getting targeted traffic to your site. Good luck!

  • I've used CL for leads before and I've found the biz opp leads to be very low quality... just my personal experience though in Canadian cities mostly

    • Yeah you are right most craigslist leads are very low quality. I never had much success with craigslist until I started personally mailing flyers or postcards to them like I mentioned above. You have to figure most of these people are getting spam mail off craigslist all day long that's why mailing something to them separates you from the rest

    YOU DON'T!
STOP SPAMMING CRAIGSLIST AND OTHER CLASSIFIED SITES!!!
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • I don't like this at all. You're abusing Craigslist, spamming people, and worst of all, taking advantage of unemployed people who need a real job and think that's what they're spending time applying to. Preying on the poor and desperate is despicable.

    • I want you guys to think about this when you have to pay your electric bill does it matter if the money came from a job or from MCA or Instant Rewards. The point is to keep the lights on. I am thankful for the past 3 years of being unemployed and by the way not getting unemployment or disability still being able to make a living online. It all started with one of those ads I found on Craigslist about making money.
I began to make real money without a real job.
You guys know a job is not the answer otherwise who would work this hard at internet marketing. I do say as long as you are not deceptive and people know this is a business let them decide to click your link or move on to the next ad.

You ARE SPAMMING AND your SIGNATURE IS AN AFFILIATE TEMPLATE FOR Motor Club of America. That's a double whammy right there. Your opinion is wrong, and your "marketing' is below amateur status. Cut the crap.

    • I am sorry! I am new to this whole internet marketing business. I guess posting on classified ads is the wrong way of doing it. This is a technique that someone else taught me to do so I tried it and it does work decently. I know I am probably below amateur when it comes to this. Can you gives me some tips to lead me in the right direction please?

  • I don't one can get any targeted traffic from Craigslist. Better not to waste any time there...
  • Yeah, I agree with others. You are preying on the desparate. People who are looking for jobs don't need pie-in-the-sky promises of making money online. They need real, reliable income.

Although some people looking there might just be in the mood for a career change, you can't really filter those people for the unemployed.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Sounds like a good way to build a list! Do you keep the names for future reference as well in case you have something else to market down the road?

    • Here's is exactly what you would be doing:
      de·ceive
      v. de·ceived, de·ceiv·ing, de·ceives
      1. To cause to believe what is not true; mislead.

  • What you are doing is effectively tricking them, getting their hopes up by making them think you actually have a job for them. That's not good marketing and is dishonest.
  • I appreciate your honesty, TheRealDuedman.

    • You can make money with Craiglist without making false promises to people looking for jobs.

It's all about traffic. Do you guys want traffic or not ? Then Craiglist got someand lots of it !

It's your choice, market this sucka or don't...
  • So, this is the way through which you will be deceiving people in the name of jobs to market your own website.
    :Shame:
  • Classisfied ads can attract targeted traffic if used well . Hell any method can, thanks for the share

    • I am going to offer my brief opinion here at the risk of getting flamed.
I DO believe it is possible to market on Craigslist without misleading people. It has to do with what exact section you place your ads and of course the obvious, what you say in your ads.

I have had very decent luck with ads on Craigslist as far as the number of optins I get to my list, but that being said, I think that even though I did not mislead them, Craigslist opt ins are not very targeted and because of such reasons, they do not tend to convert very well into a lucrative list.

I have since moved into other forms, methods and sources of advertising that prove to be a little more efficient when it comes to my bottom line.

Best of luck with your IM career, however!

  • Linkedin is as far effective as Craiglist. It's Best social network for professions, easy to use, easy to generating leads. You can add thousands of people to your list within days
    Regards,
  • I find craiglist a waste of time. I use to post ads daily for a few days straight then realize it is just a waste of time. I prefer paid traffic. Instant results, easy to optimize and scalable!
