Does anyone make money online OUTSIDE of the MMO niche?

Hey all.

I've been around for a while, and I've seen coaching programs, and all sorts of stuff, but most of them focus on the MMO niche only.

You name it: coaching programs promising 4 figures a month, high ticket coachings of all kinds, and...

I'm kind of looking for a coaching program that teaches the same principles, but for niches outside of MMO.

Does that even exist on the WF? I'm just curious, I would love to find something like that, join it, and take action. I'm so ready for it!

Anyone? I accept PMs too. Suggestions, links for WSOs, or as I said, you can PM me with links for coaching programs that are like this.

Thanks in advance!

The coaches which teach the principles in the MMO niche might show you marketing methods that you can also use in a niche outside the MMO niche, evergreen niches etc.

They might teach you strategies and ways to help you with your marketing, and you can always email them before to what structure their coaching is.

      Yes.

Far more people, I strongly suspect, than those who make money in MMO niches, and they have a far higher success-rate, too, because starting off in MMO/IM-related niches is probably the single commonest mistake that beginning marketers can make, and the single commonest reason for their enormous proportion of failures. (No, I can't prove it, but very few experienced marketers will deny it, so I don't have to ).

You just don't hear so much about them, because (a) they have less reason to post in forums like this one, and (b) they make less noise, collectively, too.

That said, sorry that I have no experience of coaching programs, and can't make any suggestions for you.

A skepchick like me is always suspicious that the techniques that work in the MMO niches are pretty disastrous, if you try to apply them to the other 999 "non-MMO niches". But I also suspect that the techniques that many coaches are teaching in the MMO niches don't work too well even in those niches anyway. Coaching is perhaps easier money than anything else. Certainly when I look at teaching information on subjects of the "How to sell IM/MMO products" kind, it strikes me quite forcefully and fairly reliably that their authors' incomes must mostly be derived from selling teaching materials, not from anything else, because they're mostly not going to work. Of course, it could be argued (by even greater skepchicks than I?) that if they're making a living selling misinformation and nonsense, then at least they're practising exactly what they preach.

Of course, if all that's right, then it would mean that the overall success-rates for people trying to make a living from IM would be pretty low, wouldn't it?

Oh, wait a minute: now that I think about it ...

The MMO niche has some good tactics and strategies you can apply outside of the MMO space. So yes, thats accurate.

While I'm sure there are legitimate marketing courses and coaches out there, ones that teach you relevant skills for use in any online niche, I'd hazard to guess that the majority of MMO coaching programs are simply teaching you how to teach others to make money online.

You know... the whole buy my WSO that teaches you how to sell WSOs to others so they can also learn to sell WSOs to others!

If you want to avoid these types of coaching and programs, don't look for a coach/program that will teach you to "make money online," look for a program that will teach you how to do "online marketing." And yes, there is a difference.

    Good luck.

    Money Machines,

What you are witnessing is the fact that coaches here at the Warrior Forum are offering their services to Internet marketers. This forum is for Internet Marketers of all kinds and in all niches. These are people who are trying to make money with their marketing.

Typically internet marketing coaches take on clients in many, many varied niches. Coaching is usually not niche specific. It doesn't matter if you market lima beans, tatoos, or belly button lint removal, the coaches are going to teach you how to market online. The principles of effective marketing are not niche specific in most cases so whatever you peddle, this forum can help you to do it better.

Since you've "been around awhile" you must have known that members of the Warrior Forum market in many, many niches outside the make money arena. Coaches teach you marketing and you adapt it to your niche.

I make money outside of the "make money online' niche and it's 10 times easier.

People looking to make money online have been lied to and cheated so many times it's ridiculous that crap that it takes to give them the confidence to buy. It's the same crap that screams scam... funny stuff this niche.

But on the flip side, if a coach can teach you to be in the Make Money Online niche, you're almost a shoe in winner to be one of his or her affiliate products... right?

The benefits of teaching people to create products and build lists in the same niche as you are enormous.

The IM niche also has lots of easy ways to get traffic, network with marketers and other avenues to get a fast jumpstart to some online profits.

Any real coach will find out what you're interested in, and help you put together a plan of action for any niche you like.

    True.

Most of my online income has come from non-MMO niches.

I didn't have an official coach or mentor when I got started, but I found a couple of marketers who had excellent blogs, ( Steve Weber & Yaro Starak ) which I followed until I out grew them.

Read on the forum and check out the blogs of marketers who you feel are providing helpful information. You might find what you're looking for.

Ewww! Yuck! Not me, no way, no how!!!

<shudders at the mere thought of the thing>

The only thing I liked on that site was at the very bottom when they said this:

That being said, you have a very valid point. If it is for sale online, then someone is making money online.

This really is an idea outside the box.

Some of these posts bashing the MMO niche are comical given they are posting on a forum that is dedicated 100% to just that. MMO is a great niche because people are "addicted" to buying the latest and greatest shiny object on how to make easy money.

Another similar niche I can recommend is the stock/forex trading niche. That audience has a similar mentality.

As others have stated if you get some good marketing advice from a coaching program you can insert whatever product you want into the formula.

          Good luck!

Well, given the tagline for this forum reads "The #1 Internet Marketing Forum" I think it is fairly accurate. Granted, not everyone is selling "how to make money online" courses but pretty much everyone is offering, discussing or interested in tools, services and information to make money online.

Put another way, the best audience for the MMO niche are the users of this forum.

MMO is a great niche and I still market in it, but I didn't feel like a real marketer until I was able to succeed outside of this space.

All I did in the beginning and for the first 4 or 5 years was make money showing other people how I made money selling how to make money online products.

I felt kind of dirty lol

It's just a personal feeling I had where I got sick of promoting launch after launch and product after product and the reciprocity and everything that comes with being in the mmo space.

Not that it doesn't happen in other niches, but it's a lot more prevalent here.

So I went underground and now make most of my money in niches outside of MMO.

And now that I feel like I'm in a position to truly teach people how to really make money online in any niche, because I've gone and done just that, now I feel much more qualified to help people make money.

Watch when you say "MMO" niche, for there are two "MMO" niches.

MMO Can stand for "Make money online" and "Massively Multiplayer Online Game"

If you are referring to the Make money online niche, call it the IM niche, not MMO.

Although I'm about to get into the MMO niche, I've been making four figures/month pretty consistently outside of it. (Mostly health/fitness stuff.) It's perfectly doable, and in fact I'd recommend starting in some other niche because, as someone pointed out above, it's a little shady to say that you MMO if you don't have any experience MingMO.

I make less than 1/2 of 1% of my income from the MMO market, the other 99 plus percent are all in markets or niches that have nothing to do with making money.

When I first started online I was learning from the likes of Cory Rudl, Frank Garon, Gary Halbert, Allen Says (the owner of this forum), Marlon Sanders, Paul Myers, Dan Kennedy, John Carlton, and several others. Though most of them marketed products to the MMO market they also made their money in other markets or niches.

It took awhile to sink into my head, but once I stopped focusing on gimmicks, techniques, little money-makers, etc. and focused on learning the basic marketing principles, I was able to take what I learned from the MMO market and apply it to other markets and niches.

I've sent you a PM on someone who I think can help you out, since he takes a principled-based approach to his coaching and he also holds you accountable for getting stuff done.

I made all my money outside of the MMO-niche. You have to provide real value to make money. And real value means giving people solid answers to their problems. I suppose MMO could work if you could niche it well enough but I don't believe in it. All the skills that you would need to be successful in MMO would net so much more money in any other industry.
