What software do you wish existed?

I understand this is just a wish list. As in, some of the stuff is impossible. Still, I wish the following software existed:

I post an update on my blog and the software will automatically do the following -

update my FB fan page with a relevant photo and a link to my post
update my Twitter feed with a snippet highlighting why people should click on the link
update my Pinterest feed with a picture post that's watermarked to my redirect link to the post and relevant
open a browser window on the 20 forums most relevant to my niche with unique text highlighting key points in the post and the post's links - each forum post will be different from each other
open 20 browser tabs and 20 of the blog posts most relevant to my latest post appear - the software gives me guideance on how to relate the other blog's post with my own post. Also, the software guides me so I don't post the same stuff over and over

A software which could read my mind and inputs the PC according to it. till now we all use keyboard mouse and to the most a speech recognition software. What I want is a piece of thing which could execute, read, write on the computer just reading my mind.

Well I'am afraid if it begins to open unwanted sites just reading my mind when its horny So I'll need a filter to block those kind of this too. So is there any hope?

We in the UK and other parts of the world would go crazy of a Gumtree bot that was up to date and updated all the time. Gumtree is like craigslist for us and could be a gold mine. I have a FB group ready to test this. I have also asked a few programmers but they asking crazy money to build it.

I'm not surprised they asked for real money. Most people start their software idea with "it should be simple and only take a couple of hours to do." This is a huge red flag that they do not appreciate what goes into software and will not be willing to pay for it. Usually the only non-programmers who have respect for the effort that goes into software development are the ones who have tried it for themselves.

Sounds like auto-posting and page-monitoring software would be useful to many.

What about webpage development tools? Is making a high-quality webpage still a hurdle? I still see lots of amateur-looking ones used for small businesses.

It's all there man...just go to wordpress.org and you'll find all the tools you need...

This is where the "shiny object" desire comes from. You have all you need, whenever a wordpress plugin wso comes out just go over to wordpress.org and you will find a free equivalent....The wheel has been reinvented so many times. As software developers we have been shafted by google, niow we need to focus on unique content and social influence....so if I were you I would look at Facebook users, that's where my focus is now

I enjoy developing software but only if it's going to be useful for somebody. Do you work for a company or are you self-employed? The reason I ask is that I was in a similar position to you i.e didn't know what to develop. I worked and still work at my company and started taking notice of what the company needed software wise and where the market didn't provide what we needed. (this lead me to write the first application for my company)

Self-employed. I'm not looking to develop anything right now. I have lots of ideas for products but don't have time to vet, develop, and market them.

Too bad software can't do all the creative thinking... sadly it's just for the mundane stuff.

Usually if you ask people what they need they won't be able to articulate it but they'll claim to know it when they see it. Carefully observing of people at work, as you did, works best in finding real problems that need solving.

This is a very common question that is asked multiple times a month.

You, as a software developer and entrepreneur, need to do research. Asking what people want isn't enough and why most of these threads don't go anywhere.

I have so many ideas I am having a hard time building them.

You know how I came up with these ideas?

I am active in the market I work in. I do the same stuff as the market I am creating software for. My experiences show me where I can automate and make life easier.

Very simple. You can't build a quality product unless you are in the trenches with your customers. That is unless you partner up with someone who has intimate knowledge.

You took the words right outta my mouth. This is a bit of 'lazy' research. Go out and get involved in the market and you will find out what problems people have that need solving. But sitting in a forum writing a thread like this will only ever give you the opinion of a few people which is worthless in the scheme of things.

If you ask people for software ideas they could come up with them all day long. It doesn't mean they are problems that desperately need solving. The best software tools are those where you go and find a problem lots of people are already having and solve it for them. Or automate a task many people have to do over and over again.

If you want to automate your IM efforts, just get hold of Imacros or autohotkey...you can do anything you need to do for free. You really don't need us (the im developers) you just need the desire to learn.

Memories archiver with tags and locations and photos etc so I can voice/type in memories whenever they come up and ultimately compile a bit of a timeline / snapshot autobiography of my life (mostly for my son to see someday but also for myself to better understand my own personal history). I know there's an app called Memoirs but that's more of a journal than a memory compiler. This is a product idea that may be viable to market, I'm just too busy writing other code. If you take this idea and make millions, please send me a free copy of the software.

Then when your done with that a autoresponder script that won't detect my ip so I stay under the radar.
