I do a bit of oDesk programming work if I have some spare time in my schedule

.

I've noticed a whole load of jobs along the lines of...

I want Adsense earnings on daily basis with guarantee and instructions for the Permanency

KINDLY READ THE DETAILS OF THE PROJECT TO UNDERSTAND MY REQUIREMENTS

I am looking a person who knows about adsense thoroughly and can create an OPTIMISED website for me which can generate 20-25 dollars per day.

-The website should be completely SEO friendly,fully operational, should have original content, generate organic traffic, should be ranked in the search engines for a good number of keywords and should also have atleast 3000-4000 visitors per day.

-It should have atleast 100 pages of keyword rich original content and no spun articles (which sound ridiculous)

-The website should generate specified amount of cash ( 20 - 25 $ ) daily with no big intervention on my part for this amount gebneration
All practices must maintain my account and good standing.

And how much is the guy paying? $500.

What's the story here? Why would somebody make a $30 a day website then sell it for just $500? Does anyone actually make money from these gigs, and has anybody commissioned a site from oDesk?

The last time I tried to buy a site I paid $995 to a guy in the WF marketplace, but he never delivered so I got a refund

This has to be the dumbest thing I've seen all year. Not your post, but what the guy you're quoting is trying to get.

He'll never get anyone to build that for him at that price. He may get quite a few people trying to scam him, though.

Anyone with the know-how and skill set to build what he wants isn't stupid enough to sell that type of site for $500. Hell, just the content and the design of such a site is worth more than $1k, never mind traffic or revenue.

This is just an example of the ignorance among the general public concerning IM. They just don't have a clue.

  Exactly why I stick to affiliate marketing, no dealing with idiots.
  
  I used to produce short video ads for clients, cheap. One lady told me I would have to hire three voice over artists, two men one woman. This was for a 60 second video made from her website. I laughed so hard I thought I'd die.

Need a google Adsense website that makes $30-$40 per day at least. - repost | Google Adsense

They're getting bids, strangely. I don't frequent freelance sites much, but I have to believe there must be some scamming going on in these gigs.

I imagine both the buyers and freelancers are trying to scam each other at the same time. The buyer, thinking he'll get some idiot to build him a quality site and then not pay him when it doesn't earn (thus getting a free site out of the deal) and the freelancer, thinking he'll throw together some spun-content, garbage site, manipulate some stats and pull one over on the buyer.

The whole thing just stinks.

Edit: Upon further inspection it seems someone is just spamming the sites under multiple user names, as they all have almost identical copy.

  maybe some self proclaimed "guru" is selling a "system" to make "quick money" by using the "secret formula" of outsourcing the hard work in order to reap all the rewards working "1 hour every week". And people are buying it and trying this "secret formula"...
  
  It really wouldn't surprise me if these people posting the same copy/pasted request are following instructions from a 297$ ebook/system that they bought online... it reminds me of a similar phenomenon that happened many years ago when a certain Mr Quack (nickname given to him in the IM community to avoid giving him free advertising when warning others about him) was selling thousands of copies of a ridiculous spammy affiliate system that did not work but had some seriously good (and I do mean that) salescopy to promote it...

I see loads of these in oDesk, as I keep an eye on gigs mentioning AdSense. Most people just want these types of sites or want somebody to make them an AdSense account.

And in answer to people's PM's to me about oDesk, I do a bit of work on there but being a native English speaker with 15 years worth of experience helps to get gigs that pay more than $1 an hour.

I've slashed my rates to get to the 100 hours logged. But in general the rates you'll get through oDesk are a fraction of what you could earn in full time employment doing the same stuff.

It suits me to do a bit of stuff on oDesk though, as I also get to keep my skills base ticking over while I travel the world, oDesking from a hotel room somewhere...
