Product vs Affiliate Marketing

INTERNET MARKETING

Hey guys,

Just curious to the best money making ways.

Personally I am a big believer in trying for the Affiliate marketing ways, however I'm also a passionate guy who writes a lot of fictional stories.

I've never sold any of my works, I wouldn't know where to start to publish or sell the product.

Yet to this day, I haven't made a single dollar on affiliate marketing.

So I'd like you guys, thoughts and opinions of what's worked best for you in the long run?

affiliate marketing - You don't have to worry about shipping, product liability, product developement, product production... well beside your site, and the customer service B.S. You simply pave a path to an established product and hope people bite. I use to sell tshirts, such a pain! so many time constraints and everyone wants that custom shirt yesterday! Lol. Not saying it's not a great way to make profit, it's a lot of headache. But then again so is IM

You can do both, writing is wonderful for the search engines, they love it, so write all your fictional stories in a blog, and sell products either your own, or others on the same website.

As was stated above some physical products, like t-shirts, are a royal pain in the ass.

  You can in theory do both. Many people start with affiliate marketing, and drive traffic to a blog which has affiliate offers on them, and after getting used to this start to create their own product.
  
  With your own product you can build sales funnels and add upsells, one time offers etc.

Do list building, and build up thousands of opt-in subscribers. Will take some time if you do only free marketing, but with paid advertising you can see results fast. Affiliate marketing is easy if you have your own site, a good cloaked affiliate link, and a responsive email list.
