How Much Would You Pay To Own Your Own Payday Loan Site?

I am just putting out some "feelers" before I decide to launch a payday loan white label product.

We have been doing very well in the credit/payday loan vertical and we are able to build and track very robust payday loan websites which sell all the leads (automatically) to a wide variety of lenders and aggregators. We would offer a 80/20 rev share.. (If a lead from your site gets bought for $100, then you get $80 and we get $20)... Leads can be bought in real time between $1 and $160...

Would anyone be interested in a "business in a box" type site in the payday loan vertical?

How much would you pay to have a payday loan site built for you (and hosted)?

Just trying to gauge interest and get an idea of the best price to offer this service...

Most legitimate internet marketers won't get involved in the payday loan industry.

Just look at the interest in this thread.

Pawn shops, thrift stores, payday lenders and other similar businesses appeal to people that have credit problems and don't typically have a lot of discretionary income.

Are those really the folks you want to market to?

Yes, there is money to be made in the niche, but most marketers would rather build a business catering to people with money.

    Good luck in your venture,

    Steve

I have been to every affiliate summit, ad-techs, leads-con, etc in the US for the past few years and shaken hands with the "real" affiliate marketers... I am absolutely a legitimate marketer...My day job is being an affiliate account manager for a major credit product (not going to tell which one, but it may be in your wallet at this moment)... We use payday loan sites off the back-end of our credit card... Approximately 80% of our traffic (about 2mil/month) comes from email list managers that use our credit offer in their payday loan lists....

Your comment that most legitimate marketers won't get involved in this niche is absolutely ridiculous... Affiliate summits, ad-techs, leads-con, etc. have an extremely large amounts of legitimate marketers that use payday loans in some way.... Maybe that warriors would rather push "make a million dollars from home" products (large amounts of which do not work at all) and not payday loan might be more accurate...

Everything i (and my company) do is absolutely legitimate... and i wanted to judge the interest on this forum....

        onlinediscountclub,

"and i wanted to judge the interest on this forum...."

I suggest you spend a little more time at this forum if you want to have
a "Feel" from it. You don't even have one month of experience here...

Everything i (and my company) do is absolutely legitimate...

Some business may be "legitimate", but a person has the right to reject.
I agree with Steve B, RogueOne, datingworld.

Your legitimate business doesn't appeal to me at all.

    QUOTE]

First of all no intention to get into this business...

    Just as a curiosity...
Why would you charge some one for building a site for them and hosting when they are the one who is bringing you business?

People would rather spend their money on promotion and not on buidling site... that site building etc should be free from your side.. As far as I know in most of such services sites are build free for affiliates...

      Online Discount Club,

Obviously I ruffled your feathers a bit so please excuse me if I came off as being critical of you or your niche. Nothing personal was intended.

I absolutely stand by what I said however. Maybe the term "legitimate" was not the best choice of terms.

Most marketers that hang out here, and do Internet marketing, are trying to build long term businesses.

There are certain topics of discussion here that most of us shun for obvious or otherwise good reason. Certainly there is money to be made in most any niche with the right type of product - no one is denying that.

But there are some niches, as you will find once you've been a member here for a length of time, that most will not go into for marketing purposes.

My comment to you is that the payday loan industry is one that fits on my "do not consider" list of niches. On my list, in addition, is religious niches, political niches, black hat tricks niches, racial, hate and slander topics, astrology niches, gambling niches, sex/adult entertainment niches and a number of other things that I have personally chosen to avoid.

Of course affiliates make profits off all these things.

You asked about the interest here at the Warrrior Forum in the payday loan vertical and I simply explained, I thought, that most of the folks here would not be interested in that niche for the reasons I gave.

      I haven't changed my mind.

      The best to you,

      Steve

I was a little "put off" by the "legitimate marketer" quote and may have sounded a bit defensive but this industry pays my bills and often gets a bad reputation... I love sub-prime finance vertical and have made a full time income from it for around 6 years now...

This is probably not the correct venue for a payday loan white label...

Your point is taken and appreciated...

I applaud you for figuring out how to make a living as a marketer. Certainly the industry you choose to make that living in is your choice and you really don't need to explain why to anyone.

I didn't want to say that the pay day loan niche has a bad reputation, but now that you have brought that up, I totally agree.

By reputation, I don't want to be associated with something that others typically feel is a scam or a rip-off. And I personally believe that pay day loans fit into that space.

Nothing personal here, it's just that if you are selling a pay day loan service (as the owner, affiliate, web site referrer, or whatever) I am going to question your ethics and run away from your business.

Still, this is just my personal opinion and others will have a different view.

          Good luck,

          Steve

I have worked in Internet Marketing since 2000 and several years ago tried my hand at Payday Loan marketing. It is a tough, expensive competitive industry and I spent a great deal on Google Adwords and other marketing with little return. If you are going to build a white label system you should give it away to any potential affiliate along with extensive training on how to be successful in the industry. You will more than likely get "newbie" affiliates who are attracted to the Payday Loan industry because of the higher than average payouts so it will benefit you to handhold them a little bit through the process. Good luck!

Payday loan companies = scum of the earth. They prey on the poor, plain and simple. I'll never promote one.

I was promoting a bad credit website a few months ago & was impressed with the payouts for helping people get out of debt. Didn't have much luck with it & like they said before the competition was crazy. Probably better to use something that isn't already flooded with other people doing the same thing.

You do realise if you were getting paid, you weren't really "helping" them out of debt.

More like selling their details on to a company that will try and charge them rediculous amounts in order to consolidate.

Aside from all the other comments, payday loan affiliate sites are already "business in a box" aren't they?

You get an application form Iframe, pop it on a website - what more is there to it?

Id look at something else if I was you.

I wouldn't pay ten cents for anything to do with payday loans.

It's one of the scummiest niches on the face of the earth.

Predatory loans for people who don't know any better. Borrow $500 and pay back $750. Wow what a great deal! That's really helping someone.

Those loans make absolutely NO sense. If a person is in a position where they have to borrow against a paycheck they haven't even received yet, what makes anyone think that will be able to pay it back plus 50% (or more) interest?

There's a reason why those are banned in Arizona. They are unethical as all hell, and I wouldn't be caught dead hawking them to people who only take them out of desperation.

    Real crappy niche.

Well, four years ago when this thread was started, I'd have said around $100.

Allowing for a typical Payday loan interest rate, I suppose that would make today's cost somewhere north of $2.4M.

  • I wonder how it turned out for this OP. My general "rule" is that any affiliate program that is not free is no better than a scam. That should be such a no-brainer imo. Pay for the privilege of making another business money and market share, when you are also taking the risks and uneven balance of terms involved as an affiliate marketer? It's also like paying for the privilege of working for an employer.
