Where to start making money?

I currently work at a website and handle all aspects of online marketing. I am knowledgeable about seo, ppc, email marketing, analytics, and everything else that goes with online marketing. However, after finding out I am going to be a dad, I would like to increase my income a little on the side. The problem I am having is I don't know where to start. Should I look at getting a site up with AdSense on it? Or Amazon affiliate links? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'd start with what you enjoy the most and you think would fit your ultimate lifestyle the best.

    First off, congratulations!

First decide on what monetization method you want to use (Adsense, affiliate marketing, ecommerce, etc), then pick a niche and do keyword research. You may want to look into Fiverr too for some quick easy cash.

That is kind of what I wanted to find out. For a beginner is Adsense, Affiliate Marketing, or ecommerce the way to go? I keep reading about Clickbank, is that better then the other ones I mentioned?

No question. You can earn EPC over $1 at ClickBank routinely. That means you can make a substantial living even with low traffic. Just make sure it's super targeted and pre-sell.

It has been, for me. But it's a totally different business model from other things you've mentioned (and, in my opinion, perhaps not one for someone very SEO-oriented, because that's of very limited value for making any real money as a CB affiliate). See if this thread helps you? http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

(And I broadly agree with Barry's comments just above.)

I personally hate Adsense, so I would not recomend it.

Amazon affiliate links are ok, but do not make a review site. Instead, become the knowledge-filled database for your selected niche/ keywords, and build a list.

Send emails to your list about new posts and recommended products.

    Remember, list first; profit second.

    Congratulations!

It seems you have the hard part ready, which is knowing how to market a site.

    For quick cash:
1.Ccreate a marketing course or program based on your knowledge and sell it here as a WSO.
    2. Sign up with fiverr and offer some simple marketing services there.

    For a more robust business:

1.Create a blog around all that you know about online marketing, do keyword research to pick your pillar articles and more specific articles. (my own pillar articles are listed on my signature). Then upgrade the course you created as a WSO to a full info product and add it to clickbank or JVzoo.

1.1 Place some optin forms on your blog to start building a list to promote your product

1.2 Dirve traffic ( it seems you already know how to do that)

This is my business at least, you can also do affiliate marketing to your list.

    Hope that hel.ps

What about the stuff in the WSO forums? Is it worth looking into? I am always skeptical of anything with a lot of caps and exclamation points. The other problem is I don't have a product to sell, that is why I was thinking affiliates. I can build a site, and get people there but don't have any actual product to sell.

I think it's fair to say that some's excellent and some's far from it.

      So am I.

Here are my suggestions for "buying WSO's", if they help you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post8016670

That's one reason to choose affiliate marketing, certainly.

How much extra money are you looking to make?

How much time are you willing & able to devote?

How much money are you willing & able to invest?

What is your favorite part of your current job?

What part of your current job do you do the best?

What is your least favorite part (task related) of your current job?

Will you be willing & able to continue the after hours time commitment once the baby is born?

          What are your interests/passions?

I can devote 10 hours a week, potentially more.

I don't have a ton of money to invest right off the start but I could do a few hundred just to start pretty easy.

Favorite part of my current job is analytics. I enjoy the why and how of people coming to a website.

I probably do email marketing the best.

I will be able to continue after the baby is born, although the time commitment might decrease slightly at first.

I'm a pretty normal guy. Interested in anything tech related, football, movies, and books.

Many WSOs will offer you great value and can help you earn a lot of money on the internet. If you aren't an experienced marketer, I would suggest buying a WSO to guide you through the process to successful affiliate marketing. I've purchased a few WSOs, all were of great quality. Do your research before purchasing and you should be good.

Another option is purchasing a membership to The War Room. You will find an excess amount of useful information there, I highly recommend.

      Congratulations and good luck

I always suggest starting out promoting other people info products, high margins, the products usually help people solve their problems.

I promote offers through JVzoo Clickbank, my own offers.

It's a great way to get started selling online, sounds like you already have all the experience you need to make it work pretty fast.

    Congrats on the baby

That's great news about being a dad soon Personally I've found that affiliate marketing is much better than Google Adsense. You'll make a small amount of residual income from Adsense but the big money is through finding merchants to partner with through online affiliate programs. Find merchants that compliment your site.

You seem, like you have lots of knowledge/skills. Create your, own products and profit from them. Affiliate marketing is great as well, but I rather create my own product and have others advertise, for me and get a commission....

Perhaps choose a product off CB which is in a stable niche(health etc) and try drive as much traffic through that affiliate link as possible via similiar forums based on that niche.

Product creation would also be another idea but would required more time and higher risks. You could make a lot more but if you're a beginner it should be a bit harder to get it off the ground than say promoting an already well designed product.

Wow! Thanks for all the feedback. Almost every forum I have joined people ignore the new guy but to get this kind of feedback is great.

I love the new dad site. It was totally unexpected so I have been researching nonstop to figure out what I should be doing. Putting that to use would be an excellent idea.

Congrats on getting ready to become a father... There is plenty of business models you can go after, One in particular is list building...

Setting up your own system to build your email marketing lists is how all the big time marketers do it, Including myself... I am by no means a Big Name Internet Marketer YET but am well on my way and will earn 6 figures this year because of Email Marketing...

Be sure to have a nice follow up sequence in your autoresponder building rapport with your subscribers and sprinkle in some QUALITY courses(hopefully your own) and then drive traffic through your funnel...

You may also want to build a blog to BRAND your business... Some people might say BLOGS are old school and I agree they are, But it has helped me tremendously in my business...

Internet Marketing seriously is not Hard but people try to over complicate things... Just keep it basic, Get your first Funnel built, Start Driving Traffic through your funnel then rinse and repeat with a new funnel...

Sounds like you already have a lot of knowledge, more than a lot of people after a year in the internet marketing business!

If I were you I'd build a website with a blog and a squeeze page and start building a list with all those traffic skills you have.

Then sell to your list, whether it's affiliate products or if you want to create your own.

I have seen a lot of surveys and even PPC advertisements which claim that we can make serious money while sitting at home. Are these really genuine or just superficial? Has anyone clicked on those ads which claim - "make so much $$$ in an hour"? Do they actually work?
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[8294523].message }}
  • Wow, congrats. I was exactly in your situation over a year ago but this is when I knew our second child was on the way and my wife was going to be out of work for an extended period. Back there again now with our 3rd on the way but in a much better financial position.

Basically I'm building and supporting websites. In the last year I've done over $40k I think which is working out great as we've just bought a bigger home which was badly needed.

Anyhow..... I put together a guide (which is linked in my signature) of how to do it all. Once you get into it there is so much money to be made and by the looks of your initial post, you already have all the skills in place.

Good luck, and congrats again. Kids are the best thing in the world!
