Making Money from Viral YouTube Videos

Hi Guyz,
I wanted your take on the following money-making method that I saw being sold somewhere.
The process is fairly straightforward: you find viral YT videos which don't have a link in the description and then send a message to the owner of the channel asking to pay him so that he can put your link in the description. If he agrees and some of that viral traffic clicks on your affiliate link, you make a boat-load of money ($10,000 a month as he put it).

Does this process work? His software (which finds viral videos, sends messages to these channels on auto pilot and sets up custom affiliate websites) goes for $997 (yeah, you read that right).

What is your advice, both on the method and the software?
Thanks.

*The software is called Social Traffic Income*

to me it sounds waaaaay too much "hit and miss" to be worth that much money. Here's an example: you buy the software, you find a viral video, you somehow manage to get in contact with the owner and get a deal to have your link in the description. You pay him, for example, 100$. he takes your money and the day after removes the link from the description. You're now 1K + 100 dollars under with nothing in your hands.

You find another video. You contact the owner. You pay him 50$ (you got smarter since the last guy), he puts the link and his video, 2 days after, gets removed by youtube because of a copyright strike.

Now you're 1K+100+50 dollars under and you still don't have anything in your hands.

You find another video. Contact the owner. Get your link in the description for 80$ (this guy was tougher to negotiate with), and a week later his video "virality" slows down to almost a halt. In the meantime you've made (let's be very very generous) $20 in commissions which will be give to you next month.

Now you've lost 1K+100+50+80 but you've made 20 dollars! yay!

From how you described it, this software has no reliability at all - it sounds way too much luck-based to be that expensive.

Without more info on it, I wouldn't touch it. With more info and more detailed (and convincing) explanations on how it works, it might be worth checking.

Going by my guts, I would think there are many smarter and safer ways, with far more reliable ROI, to invest $1K.

    ciao!
