Hi all, I'm addressing this to the pro marketers who know their business and have been in this game SUCCESSFULLY for a while. As a product creator, what are the bases you have to hit to ensure that your new product gets to the top of the pile in no time?

    You need a high converting sales page.

    I'd love to say it's all about your content, but it's not. If you want affiliates to pick up and promote your product, it needs to convert and bring in good money. The more upsells and backend offers you can payout the better.

    You need 2 things; a high converting offer and affiliates to promote it. That's the fastest way to get a boatload of bucks.

      Thats quite an open question. There are so many options you may wan't to narrow down a little with your own research

      The platform you wish to sell your products will dictate which route you go

      Kindle Store:
      You cant publish anywhere else but suits books if that is your aim. there are some people on here with lots of knowledge on this subject. I can point you that way if required

      Own Website:
      You need to drive traffic to your page and have a decent sales page that converts viewers into buyers at a decent rate and if using pay per click advertising it will need to comply with the vendors rules (google, bing etc)

      Also it depends if you want to pay for advertising and traffic or if you can only afford free traffic. Paid traffic is the quickest and best method for split testing your offers then getting to high conversion rates. You can then get affiliates on the case of selling for you.

    You need an email list of buyers. Before launching your own product, you should sell a similar or complementary affiliate product to create this list. This way you will already have subscribers/potential customers to promote your product to, when you’ll finally finish creating your product and you will launch it.

    While there are some common things that encompass everything, the finer details (in many cases) will depend on what kind of product you are creating and who (and where) your audience is, not to mention price point, back-end sales, etc.

    I'll skip all of the obvious suggestions and say that one key thing you'll need to do is to establish your positioning and brand prior to launch.

    SALES PAGE! One of my sales pages today is still converting at a strong 9%, so I am happy with that. I have received 13% at some times as well.

    You need to convince people. If you get at least a strong 9% conversion rate, that means 9 people will be buying every time around 100 visitors come by.

    To succeed with selling your own product, you need to offer good information and SELL THE BENEFITS!

    You need a highly converting and responsive sales page, great website graphics and a group of super affiliate marketers to help you kick the ball up to the top.

    I'd say the best way to get your new product "to the top of the pile" is to simply have an amazing product, looking at what the market wants and then satisfying their varying needs successfully in your sales copies, PR reaches - coupled with a mix of different revenue streams and pricing tactics.

    You need everything, and everything to work synergistically together.
    I take it that from your sig it is a book of some sort. I have no expertise in books for the most part such as kindle and amazon. I do have expertise in good old fashion ebooks though. The kind you pick up on a squeeze page.

    I am going to tell you my one little secret of selling large amounts of my products but you have to promise not to tell anyone.
    Its having everything ready and everything in it's place and of quality and then having the right affiliates.

    Thats it, that is all I do to have a successful product and sometimes I fail but I keep going till I make it work.

    I have a new book coming out soon, my plan is to write a number of articles on the subject and offer them to blog owners in the niche as free content. They will of course add there affiliate link to the article.

    So that's my plan free content plus affiliate commission
