hosting and other advice

I am getting back to this after being away from it for 3 or 4 years. Never had much success in the past but am going to give it another shot. I used godaddy in the past but think there site is a nightmare to navigate. Thinking of host gator or blue host. I have an idea for a product but want to build a list while product is being developed so any advice there would be great. Any other general advice would be great, I have been away a long time and forgot a lot and I am sure things have changed over the past few years. if I don't get back right away I drive a truck and time is limited. I do want out of the truck, this is going to be my retirement!!

    Hi Wolfe655,

Do you have any specific niche in mind? Any skills that you'd like to sell online? Do you want to develop your own product or go into affiliate marketing?

Once you decide on this, then it will be easier to advise on the best ways to build your list.

All the best in your endeavours

Yes I do have a specific niche and I want to do both. I have to do more research on the niche to see what type of affiliate products are out there when I have time.i have seen a lot of this type of thing on social sites and think my idea would go pretty good. I want to get the list and a blog going pretty quick, maybe promote an affiliate product here and there and work on developing my product while trying to build relationships and a good rep.

I will look into that link. I bought a wso about list building yesterday but it was all about the IM market, I want to stay away from that for now. Maybe I can make it work for my niche though!

One thing I need to learn more about is making my squeeze page.one thingI saw here is don't put the sign up on the site. Use a squeeze page. I would like to get the sign up first then have them enter my site after they join my list but I don't want anyone to feel forced. I will give away something for the signup. Also back then it was recommended that everything on squeeze pages and sales pages be done in red, blue, black text, certain sizes, fonts etc... So not sure how to proceed there. I don't really like that red and blue. I think it looks to sale minded and pushy. I pass those up all the time when searching the web!
