Hey warriors,

Quick poll, how fast can you whip out sites?

Let's say you wanted a wordpress website with a custom header, and two articles on it, how fast?

I've never gone for speed. But I bet I can do a wordpress install with a custom header and two articles in one hour... I bet I could do it in less than an hour too. I guess it would depend on the topic. If I have to do researching than I would probably need the whole hour.

I can have a custom secured wordpress installed in 10 minutes and another few minutes to post the articles and a header image.. So let's say 20 minutes, want to see the video ... lol

This is doing a normal install, if I wanted to use SSH access then I can do a custom secured install in about 2 minutes.

one site every 2 hours that includes quality and getting it indexed plus having all of the seo work done, after that I then outsource the back linking to my crew, in all reality I only do about 3 sites a day but all of my sites are ranked top 3 in google,

if I am going into a niche I don't know about or care about, I will outsource all the writing so in that case it takes a little longer to get the site up, because I have to wait for the articles

self hosted i have it down to about 20 minutes to just have it up, running, and a customized header.

But if i want it up, running, about 10 posts, seo, registered, search engine submitted, adsense, analytics and an extra ppc campaign put in, probably around 1 day or so to have a fully functioning site

I would say 30 minutes to one hour for me if it is a Wordpress blog. That is assuming I have the articles ready to drop in. I'll add the appropriate WP plug-ins to make it more SEO friendly.

@nicholasb- I like your model and looking to find some outsourcers myself.

      About 20 days.

We don't mess around with mini little 3 page blog crap.

We build out proper sites that are able to attract far more searchers. A minimum of 50 pages usually, with an average of well over 100.

      That's a site.

Far more effective long term IMHO.

I spend ages setting up a wordpress blog, take it to the extreme rotating banners, choosing ad's, basically tweak it to the max to make sure everything is right from the word go, so then all I need to do is post to it.

My sites tend to be engineered for long-term authority site longevity. It takes about a week or so to build one, another week to promote the beejeezus out of it.

Now, if you're taking about little satellite "minisites" that feed into the authority hub, gosh, that takes about an hour apiece, especially if I have my content pre-written.

I can tell that I'm a 'newbie'...forget hours...mine take a day or more for Wordpress. Only an hour for Blogger...that's where I'm most comfortable.

I like to make my sites look nice, so I spend a lot of time photoshopping a template for a site. Once I am happy with the look I slice it up and use CSS/XHTML for the layout. The content is usually 10 articles or so which take maybe a couple days to write. I don't tend to use wordpress...

It seems the minisites are ahead of the full blown sites 10-4. I would rather have a ton of minisites aka little cash machines instead of one big site that if it falls out of the SERP's you are screwed. The minisites will protect you and the larger single sites will not.

They have always said do not put all of your eggs in one basket and that is so true today with websites.

    Just my 2 cents worth!

There is some truth in what you say, but it doesn't follow that a large correctly optimised site that does nothing funky will drop dramatically from the serps.

Here's an idea I want to share with everyone:

A good goal for site building would be something along the lines of:

      100 mini sites/blogs/squidoo/hubpages etc

20 small sites (approximately 20 to 30 pages each).

10 larger sites (approximately 100 pages).

2 or 3 mega sites with unlimited pages of content.

Some interlinking, but not overdone. Get most of your links elsewhere.

This way you get the best of all worlds. No eggs are just in one basket and all business models are covered.

This is more of a target to work towards if you are wondering what you should do next.

Stick to this general plan. You should never get bored because you can quickly create some of the smaller sites and soon see results to help you keep motivated. But also work on building up some sites into authority sites.

Believe it or don't believe it, but this works like magic.

This whole model could be used just for one niche, or for multiple niches if you can't create enough content just for one niche.

This might take months, even a few years to achieve. But assuming you have chosen your niche(s) well, you can't lose.

The IMPORTANT question is: "Are you willing to do what it takes?"

Wordpress sites: About 5 minutes to 10 minutes including tweaking the settings, adding a few essential plugins. Don't know about the header image - maybe another 5 mins more.

Posting articles another 2-3 minutes, if they are written already.

2 articles + Wordpress Installation + Tweaks would take maybe 20 minutes max.

I do customized themes instead of just a header to make it look better. I usually crank out 3 in an hour if the content is already provided for me. I actually do them with 5 - 10 articles each.

I have a streamlined system for doing my tweaks, inserting posts, customizing my theme. Really is quite wonderful now

I think most of us know that! Don't we?

But WP can function very well as a website. In fact, I've found that the feeds, sitemaps and other tools really help Wordpress articles on my 'sites' get indexed within 60 minutes usually.

So I could set up a fairly decent site, including a simple header and pages within one hour. Of course, getting it indexed takes a while.

lol...WordPress blogs can of course be full-blown content management sites.

My own blog consists of posts but also lots and lots of pages. It is a full site.

I could do that in about 75 minutes or so less the graphics.

I'm so bad at making logos/graphics, it's easier to just buy one if the new site starts making some money.

Following my wordpress set up check list takes me a good 15 minutes and about 30 minutes per article.

Could do it in less than an hour based on what you asked. If I wanted a site that makes me a nice, long-term income though, then it would take me a lot longer.

Through the years and after many hours of work, I would go for CMS, (Content Management Systems) anytime

It's a no brainer at all. You can have a great looking website with all the toys in less than three hours. With my system, you can go from zero to a complete website with a control panel, Sections, categories, Forums, and anything you can imagine these days.

I've done it many times. I can put a website in one hour if my connection's speed is good enough.

Where is the real challenge when you are faced with the task of creating a website? Content. You can have the best we 2.0 looking website, AJAX, and everything but with no content, there is no point with having it and your work would be just a waste of time and effort. Not to mention money. Although, this method I use is so cheap, is not even a concern. Less than USD$10 for domain registration and two months of full webhosting.

Static pages are a thing of the past. Anyone creating simple HTML websites with no database managed content is leaving the best part and the fun part of creating useful websites as fast as you think about them.

You can search for opensource projects such as Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress as mentioned at this very thread, and even blogspot blogs.

There is no limit to webdesign but the barriers we put to our selves. If you don't know how to do it, just google it and you'll find the answer if you know how to look it up.

I can deploy a site.. any php/lamp stack site. (ie a cms, wordpress, joomla, drupal, custom ...
if you can ftp a site.. once.. and set it up.. we can deploy it again effortlessly...

if you want a private beta.. make me an offer.

We can deploy drupal sites.. like nintendodsioffers.co.uk

or.. you could roll out a site.. like webtyrant.com or salesgrowthcoach.com

the think is.. why would you want to..

    for parking..
    good.. now you're thinking..

that's what we do .. with our panel..

the catch is.. you actually need good content.. and that takes time..

if you want a demo.. pm me..

Be good to have some outside feedback..

    ps.
free thought.. you can always use domain alias..

we're also looking for beta testers for our parking system.. will be £10k+ when ready.. we really want people keen to give feedback.. but no tire kickers..
