Hello fellow Warriors. I have yet another question I need to put to you.

Do you have any experience of traffic exchanges, and have you found that they make you any sales? I have just joined Traffic Swarm as a free member but am not sure if it's worthwhile or not as it would take alot of work to get visits to my site. I see they have some paid membership options, but really have no idea if this would be worthwhile or not.

  • The free membership of Trafficswarm is too time consuming. The ratio is 1:1 meaning you have to view 1 website to get 1 visit to your website. With the paid version you can buy "hits" to your website, which i think i much better if you have the money to spend. Traffic exchanges are a good way to get targeted traffic, you can choose the niche in which you want your visitors coming to your website are interested in. Trafficswarm is one of the highly rated Traffic exchanges

    • TrafficSwarm makes it seem like your getting a 1:1 ratio as a free member, but really your not. Each credit you means 1 other person sees your written ad along with 8 others on the page. So in reality, you need 9 credits to make sure that one person clicks on your ad whcih is text and actually sees your site. For this reason, I consider TrafficSwarm much inferior to Clixsense and EasyHits4u. But in general, I think Traffic Exchanges are a waste of time. It would be more cost effective for me to have a part-time job anywhere and then use that money to buy better quality advertising.
  • I dont think traffic exchanges are worth it unless you are looking for means for showing numbers and put your website for sale soon. Even then, I dont think it will be a good idea.
  • I am with trafficshowdown and really enjoy it. The conversion is pretty high compared to others. The admin is also very honest and friendly. I am Happy with the traffic sent by them.

    • I would say that it all depends on what you want to achieve with your traffic. If you just want to have high visitors numbers then sure, traffic exchanges can do the job. But if you want targeted, quality traffic then I've yet to find any traffic exchanges that provide this, despite their promises that state otherwise.

In my experience, the time and money I've wasted faffing around with traffic exchanges in the past could have been better spent in other, more efficient and reliable ways of driving good quality traffic.

  • I don't have any idea about Traffic Exchanges conversion but I did a few Banner exchange with a similar niche site to mine.

    • Did you have any success with the banner exchange?
  • Traffup is working good for me. It just takes a few minutes to set up and build some points. I'm not to sure about the quality of traffic by most Exchange websites because most of them are used by people using bots and so the quality of the traffic is not the best in my opinion. To get free traffic I have a 100% FREE video training for you waiting: Squeeze page opt-in free website traffic Hope this will help!

  • I do have some experience. I've been using anonwebhits.com. It's pretty decent actually, it's good for boosting your websites alexa rank or when your selling the website it makes it look active.

Other then that I haven't had any sales with anonwebhits.com because it's an auto surfer, so the user isn't actually sitting there watching the screen and websites.
  • This.^

I did extensive testing in my early days. I wish I had all that wasted time back.
  • Traffic exchange is a waste of time if you are looking for conversions or even sales. Most of that is very low quality or bot traffic

    • I think you are right ;-) It's because the need of traffic we try it all but how many times it really works? Not much........

  • Hey !
If you want to make some sales then why don't you go for ppc or any advertising .
In my opinion it's harder(but not impossible) to make sales through traffic exchanges .
Traffic exchanges are much better way to bring new referrals than trying for sales .
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • The problem with traffic exchanges is that everyone is only there to earn credits to get traffic to their own websites, NOT to buy anything or really be interested in visiting other websites.

So the best thing you can do is to offer a free report on the topic of traffic and get them to opt-in to your list. Then you can market other things to them later.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I haven't had a whole lot of good experiences with traffic exchanges myself, I tend to agree Denise that most of the people are just looking to earn credits and don't give a hoot about the offers that show up when they click. That's just my experience, though, some others may have had better experiences with that type of system. In my opinion there are much better ways of getting targeted traffic to your offer that would be a better use of your time.

  • I dont like them, I dont think the traffic there converts anything to your website. I think it could give you more problems then solutions. Can it negatively affect your alexa rank...I think so.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • No luck with traffic exchange sites and I would rather spend money on PPC marketing for the same money that I would spend on a traffic exchange site.

  • Waste of time with little results (as are most backlink/seo schemes).

Found much better results with press releases, ppc campaigns, videos, and social marketing.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • It does not work for me. It's like you are also visiting other advertisers' websites and not buyers.

    • Traffic exchanges are such a dated form of traffic that wasn't any good 10 years ago and are worse now. Almost as bad as auto post to 100 classified site engines.
  • Correct If Im Wrong but "buying traffic" Doesnt sit Well with Adsense sites right? I thought I saw somewhere that this would be looked at like spam from the Low Quality/ Bot traffic or Fluff a lot of these "Hit Sellers" are selling?! Am I wrong here?
    • [1] reply
    • You are perfectly correct.... I had my adsense account closed down after buying into some guaranteed traffic. I am guessing google would view traffic exchange visitors in a similar manner.
  • Traffic search is really a waste of time and money into it !

It does not convert and t'day if you see it gets more worse
  • Most of the times, visitors from traffic exchange sites do not convert. These visitors are not targeted. So you can't expect to get sales at all. I would suggest you to create a landing page and use traffic exchange sites to get email sign ups. You can offer a free gift for signing up to your list. In this way you may get some email signups. You can then promote offers directly by contacting them through email. If you are looking to get direct sales, it usually doesn't work.
  • Well you can always do a split test with a traffic exchange site and a normal traffic source like ex solo ads and the one who gives you the better opt ins and sales is the one for you.

    • For myself I have seen solo ads work better than traffic exchanges, but it is all about testing.
