eBooks For Offline Business Owners?

Here in the UK there is a popular Indian beer which sells by the bucket load in curry houses. But when launching the beer in the 197Os the beer business owner was looking for a way to promote his beer to more curry houses. He was surprised to discover that there was no industry magazine for curry house owners, so he launched a magazine which he sold to curry houses and then put trade adverts for his beer inside for free. So his potential customers where actually paying to see his adverts. When his beer went national he then sold the magazine for a tidy profit.

Could anyone do anything like this for their site?

    He was innovative person.
Even now and then people do come up with innovative ideas; and those who come up with such unique innovative ideas and put in place, get success.

You have to know your market really well. I wouldn't advise going into a market trying to sell them something their niche wouldn't respond well to.

I also fully accept I don't know crap about certain businesses.

A great example: I put together a site for a Dairy equipment supplier. The customer was adamant about a form for web visitors to "contact" about certain equipment. I did it... but grumbled how it wouldn't work and that Mennonites/Amish (their main client base) aren't going to contact via a form but are more likely to call, etc.

Boy was I wrong. This contact form gets more contacts than the majority of my other more popular sites.

Lesson learned? Anything can "work" but you have to KNOW your market and niche and how they'll respond.
