Solo Ad Providers: Is the new Gmail update affecting you at all?
Okay, so I realized that this topic has been discussed in threads before (I've found them with the search feature); however, I'd like insight on this specific aspect of it.
Most of us already know about and have experienced the new tabs update that Gmail has done recently.
As a gmail user, I personally don't care for it and have disabled the feature.
I also don't care for it because I've seen my email open rates drop pretty significantly, as I'm sure others have as well.
Since this update has hit us email marketers specifically, I can't help but think that solo ad providers have taken the hardest hit.
Am I wrong?
If you're a solo ad provider, I'm curious to hear how this new Gmail update has affected your promotional email open rates.
I enjoy paid advertising and solo ads have increasingly become my #1 choice for paid traffic; however, I'm wondering if it's still worth it.
I mean, I'm sure there's still worth to it, but I'm wondering if it will still be as effective with this new Gmail update.
Also, I'd love any suggestions/advice on possible alternatives to email marketing.
I don't think I'll ever completely 86 email marketing; however, I do think it's wise, especially with this update, to slowly start making moves towards alternative communication methods.
I've never been a huge fan of social media like Facebook and Twitter, but it's looking like that may be the only other feasible communication portal in terms of relationship building, promotions and sales next to email marketing.
How have you all been adapting?
Thanks in advance for your kind input, insight and advice.
