INTERNET MARKETING

Which is the better business model?

1. Create a kick ass e-book in the weight loss niche (yes, I know it's competitive!) and sell it on Clickbank for $39.99 with a 70% affiliate commission.

OR

2. Create a kick ass e-book in the weight loss niche and give it away for FREE, hoping that it goes viral and then set up a membership site with a trial offer of $1 for the first 30 days and then $14.95 monthly thereafter or $120 for the year?

This is how you know. What works for one may not work for someone else.

Seems you have a handle on the concepts, try them and see which one gives you the results.

No one can answer this for you.

Every product is accepted differently depending on how the promoter presents their product.

Free ebook => Paid ebook => Membership site => Home study course => Coaching program

Oh yeah, and go with a monthly subscription, you will get far more front-end sign-ups. The big plus here? You also build a bigger customer list faster.

So are you guys saying create two seperate e-books?

I've seen others in this niche sell e-books and then later on give them away for free. In my mind this would definitely anger the customers who originally purchased it, would it not?

  The free ebook would be an introduction to what you have to offer. It should contain some really great information, but the information would not be complete, so your potential customers would have to buy your paid package to get the full down-low from you.
  
  Think 'useful, but incomplete' for the free ebook. You can compile a few articles and create this free ebook easily or hire a writer to create a short 10-20 page report.
