Can anyone tell me how I can access my CPanel in HostGator, problem is when I Login to my Cpanel, I get a (Tranfer your domain to their site logo) that you are not able to get out of, or access you cpanel..

My domain is at present registered with GoDaddy, and not wanting to transfer...

Can some Warrior help me with this frustrating nuisance..

  • Hey Mike, have you set your nameservers in GoDaddy so that they point to your hosting?
  • Thanks for the quick answer, yes I have, not heard back whether it was done correctly or not..first time, but appeared to work fine with no error messages or the like..I can see my Cpanel through the annoying Logo.

Would hostgator inform me if I had not set the name servers correctly?

  • Yup, sounds like you need to set your nameservers to point to your hostgator account. Then add the addon domain in hostgator. Then you will be able to login at yoursite.com/cpanel.
  • Interesting, you can just contact support at support@hostgator.com (I'm pretty sure). That way you don't have to login. Explain to them your issue. Their support is really good.
  • Thought I had done it?

How would I know if the nameservers were pointing to my hostgator account?

@JohnnyJM, what is the addon, didn't know I had to do that..!!!

  • Mike,

If this is your first account, you won't need to worry about adding an add-on domain, that's if you have an account hosting multiple domains. It's been a while since the first time I set up my first account but, if I remember correctly - it can take up to 24 hours for everything to register the first time around.

Also, you may need to give Hostgator a call if this is your first time with them to verify your account (they do this to prevent fraud). I use them myself and can say that they have excellent customer service.
  • This is my first time with GoDaddy for my Domain name, my site is being hosted thnrough Hostgater.

And yes, I've checked, the nameservers have been set, I'll wait 24 hours and see what happens, hopefully I've done everything correctly..

@The Hern, yes, I'll take your advice and give them a call.

Thank you both for your help

  • Mikaedi88 What kind of device are you using to access cpanel? Just wondering, because there should be a cross on that message so you can close it and access cpanel.
  • I use a mouse with my Laptop, there should be a cross at the top right, trying to get hostgator to allow me to access my CPanel, all they seem interested at present is selling me more services, have explained to them my Domain was purchased through GoDaddy, and I want it that way for now..

  • Try using the domain name you used to sign up with Hostgator and add / cpanel like this...

    h**p://yourdomainname.com/cpanel

or click on the link in your HG confirmation email both should take you to the log-in screen.
  • Thanks Tim, tried that, I have sent them a urgent email for them to sort out, I may have to call them..

Thanks to all other Warriors for your help.

    All login problems, successfully resolved
