What is the best practice for marketing a product of service in linkedin ?

    LinkedIn is extremely difficult to market within. You can do it within specific groups, but you have to do it in a way that won't get you bounced for Spam. It's a network that is mainly for professionals, and need to cater to that.

    You can use linkedin ads. or you can directly email your potential costumers.

    You can also create groups and then invite prospect to share your stuff with them.

    I was killing it using Linkedin Groups to drive traffic to my site.

    Then I got flagged for being overly promotional in one of the groups, (not sure why, I was being helpful and posting useful stuff that was attracting a lot of interest) and that bounced me from all groups. (I was in several groups)

    This then meant I couldn't participate in ANY of the group discussions that I was a member of - even the ones where I wasn't flagged.

    Instead of doing what I was doing, do it in a 2 step phase. Help in the groups without promoting at all, then push traffic from your profile page, to your main property.

    I wouldn't personally market a product on Linkedin, I would think you are better off joining some groups, making yourself known, build some connections and sharing your squeeze page so people can join your list and you can market to them that way.

    This works for me!

    1. Tweak your profile using advice from the many here on WF have on the subject
    2. Have a really good thank you response to new connections calling out what you do and who you are. It is also a great time to provide a link to Xeeme or other locations where people can connect with you elsewhere.

    3. Become a premium Toplinked.com member and get your connections flowing in daily (I am averaging about 100+ new ones per day coming my way). Because you will have a steady lead flow coming in each day, these new connections are already wanting to network with you and will naturally look at what you do and what you promote.

    4. I personally am looking for business owners to market to, so with this being said, search and join groups where the business owners hang out. I use chamber of commerce sites, business organizations, etc. to find the business owners. Don't get crazy with spammy promotional posts, but start out by simply introducing yourself in the groups and it will get a good bit of attention.

    5. Rinse and repeat daily. I ended up creating a bot to autoreply and accept all connection requests each day using UBot Studio becasue there are so many.

    Hope this helps in some way. It might not be a perfect fit for others, but it works pretty good for me. I have picked up a lot of new clients this way.

      Personally, I wouldn’t consider linked in marketing for my products and services because there are other options available. I’d rather join forums or groups and share my ideas in order for people to know me, share a squeeze page so that my followers can join my email list and build connections with them.

    The best way is to joint groups which you think are under your niche,the share your ideas there.
    Also you can consistently share your links on your profile where your followers can check out on it
